LG G5 Available Cheaper Price Rs 40999 Amazon India (12K Price Cut)

The LG G5 has got a massive price cut on Amazon India and is now available for Rs. 40,999.  The LG G5 was launched in June 2016 and at the time of launch it was priced at Rs. 52,999.

I was critical of LG G5 pricing at the launch , as the more popular Samsung S7 was priced at Rs. 48,900 at that of point of time and it would not have given LG any advantage to sell the LG G5.  Last week Samsung has cut prices of the Samsung S7 and S7 Edge by Rs. 5000.  The Samsung S7 is now available for Rs. 42,999 while the S7 Edge can be bought for Rs. 50,499.

The LG G5 price cut of 12K comes as a knee jerk reaction to the Samsung devices getting a price decline with the launch of Samsung Note 7.  LG is also planning to launch the LG V20 in the first week of September and price correction can be a hint towards India launch of LG V20.

It is yet not confirmed by LG whether they have corrected the prices permanently to this leve for the LG G5 or it is a limited time offer on Amazon India. Currently the smartphone is priced 6k higher on Flipkart.

To recap the LG G5 comes with a modular design with 5.3 inch Quad HD Display (2560*1440) AMOLED screen with 545 PPi. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.1 GHz and comes with Adreno 530 GPU. The LG G5 comes with 4 GB RAM similar to Galaxy S7.

The LG G5 comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS and will definitely get the Android Nougat 7.0 update. The smartphone comes with Dual rear camera setup with 16 MP  lens with f/2.0 aperture with capability to record slow motion as well as 4K videos.

The front camera is also great with an 8 Megapixel resolution.  The LG G5 comes with 2800 mAH battery capacity which is sufficient to run it all day.  The device has 4G LTE and VOLTE connectivity options.

If you are looking for a smartphone in the 40K price range your choices have suddenly increased with the LG G5 , Huawei P9 (Leica camera) and even the Samsung S7 getting a bit cheaper. We await till Apple and HTC cut the price for their smartphones in India.
