The LG G5, the flagship smartphone from LG, is available for pre-order now on Flipkart exclusively and will also go on sale in the retail stores shortly. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 52,990 which is Rs. 3,000 higher than the Samsung Galaxy S7.
LG G5 is a modular smartphone and come with a bunch of accessories which you need to buy additionally. Though as a launch offer LG is giving the Cam Plus accessory free with the new purchase.
We wrote about the LG G5 Modular design and accessories in detail which you can read here – LG G5 Modular Design smartphone.
LG G5 Key Specs and Features
The LG G5 comes with a very premium metallic design along with the always on display feature.
The LG G5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.1 GHz and comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4 Ram. It is actually the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 powered phone in India. Though the Mi5 was first, it uses a lower clocked (1.8 GHz) powered Snapdragon 820 variant.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with the Exynos 8890 and HTC is set to launch the HTC 10 in India. The LG G5 has a Dual Rear camera
The smartphone has a Rear 13 Megapixel + 8 Megapixel dual camera system which can take incredibly good quality images. The dual camera comes with f/2.0 aperture and has Optical image stabilization, along with the ability to capture slow motion and 4K videos.
The front camera is also an 8 MP shooter for taking selfies.
The LG G5 has a 5.3 inch Quad HD (2560*1440) pixels OLED display which comes with 554 PPI pixel density.
OS and Storage
The phone runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 and has a 32 GB storage. The Dual Sim device supports 4G LTE as well as the VOLTE in India. There is also micro-sd card slot for expanding the storage to 200 GB.
The LG G5 has a detachable battery which you can remove easily and attach another battery in place of it. It sounds more gimmicky to me than practical use. The battery is decent with 2800 mAH capacity but not very large.
Also, it comes with the USB Type C port and has support for the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging.
While LG G5 is priced higher and is almost 2 months late than the Samsung S7, a lot of enthusiasts would have already bought the S7. LG may have to do a lot of marketing and promotions to build up the hype that we saw at the time of Samsung S7 launch.
