South Korean smartphone company, LG is said to launch a smaller variant of the LG G6 for a big time now. The company’s flagship phone LG G6 impressed the audience in a big number, thanks to the Full Vision display of 5.7-inches.
LG Q6 was earlier referred to as LG G6 Mini from the leaks which came out last week. Now it is looking more like a mid range smartphone which may have some similarities to the Flagship LG G6.
However, the LG G6 is not powerful as the current generation flagship phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 or OnePlus 5 or HTC U11 or Xiaomi Mi 6 because it uses the Snapdragon 821 chip, which is now more than a year old.
There are also rumours that LG will launch a new powerful phone before the LG V30 official release to compete with the phones mentioned above. Then there’s the LG G6 Mini, whose pictures were leaked long back by Techno Buffalo but we are not expecting the LG Q6 which is going to launch in Poland on 11 July 2017. The invite comes with the #LGBarbeQ tag line which also hints at the new LG Q6.

Thanks to the ever reliable Evan Blass, today we got to know more information about the smaller version of the LG G6- the G6 Mini. Wait, first brush off the G6 Mini moniker because Blass says that the smartphone will be called as LG Q6 and features downgraded hardware compared to the LG G6.
The LG Q6 will have a 5.4-inch 18:5:9 Full HD display (1920*1080 pixels). The aspect ratio is going to be similar to the LG G6 but the resolution is toned down from Quad HD to Full HD in the new phone. The slimmer bezels at the sides of the phone will make the device look like a 5-inch smartphone. The G6 has a 5.7-inch Full Vision display, but the overall form factor of the phone comes down to a 5.3-inch smartphone. The same happens with the LG Q6 as well. That said, LG decision to stick with the wide display is a much-appreciated one.

The leaker did not reveal the chipset which will be used to power the phone, but he did claim that LG is packing a single 13MP rear sensor, as opposed to the dual 13MP sensors seen on the LG G6. This is highly expected, and he also says that the phone will have just 3GB of RAM.
LG as per the latest geek benchmark the processor used is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM 8937), a mid-range SOC from Qualcomm clocked at 1.4 GHz. The smartphone runs on the Android Nougat 7.1 update along with 3 GB of Ram.
