The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has launched the new smartphone in the Home market called as the Meizu M5.
The Meizu M5 is the successor to the Meizu M3, they skipped the M4. Recently Meizu launched the Meizu M3 Max in the Chinese market and Meizu also has launched the Meizu M3s in the Indian market priced at Rs. 7,999.
The naming convention of Meizu smartphone is pretty complex as we have Meizu M3 , M3s , M3E and even the M3 Max. Good they have named the new one as M5.
The Meizu M5 is a budget smartphone and is priced at CNY 699 or Rs. 7,200 for the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage variant. While the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 899 or Rs. 9,200.
The smartphone sale will start in the coming week in China. The device will be available in Green, White, Blue, Gold and black colors.
The smartphone has a metal build and looks sleek as well as robust at the same time.
The Meizu M5 comes with a 5.2 inch HD display (1280*720) pixels. The display has 2.5 D curve glass to make the looks more attractive and it offers 282 PPI.
The smartphone is powered by the Mediatek 6750 Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. There is Mali T860 GPU to take care of graphics intensive apps and games.The smartphone comes with 2 GB / 3 GB ram and 16 / 32 GB storage. The Meizu M5 comes with Dual Sim support and the second sim slot can be used as a hybrid slot to expand the storage to 128 GB.
The Meizu M5 also runs on the Yun OS 5.1 (actually a fork lift from the Android OS read more about it). There is Flyme OS 5.5 skin on top of it which is Meizu’s custom UI. The Meizu M5 comes with 13 Mega Pixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and has Dual LED flash. The smartphone also boasts of a 5 Mega Pixel front camera to click selfies.
The device has got decent battery backup with it’s 3070 mAH battery capacity. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking.
Notably the Meizu M5 has 4G LTE as well as VOLTE support along with the native 3G /2G options.
The smartphone has 3.5 mm jack and offers USB OTG support too. The Meizu M5 has 8.8 mm of thickness and weighs nominal 138 grams.
The M5 is not much different when compared to the M3s launched in India as it has similar storage and Ram options, same process and nearly same battery capacity.
The smartphone is China exclusive so far and no word is there on the availability outside of China.
