Meizu has been gaining ground slow and steady and they want to continue the battle against LeEco and Xiaomi.
The Meizu Pro 6 was launched back in April this year. The smartphone had a iPhone 6s like 3D touch, uni-body aluminum design.
Meizu has launched a new variant of the Meizu Pro 6 called as the Meizu Pro 6s in China on 4th November 2016. The Meizu Pro 6s offers a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen offering a 1080×1920 pixels resolution with a 71.3% screen to body ratio & 424 ppi pixel density. The screen is protected by the Corning gorilla glass 3.
Just like Pro 6,the Pro 6s also offers 3D touch display and have the Flyme 5.6 UI. This handset runs on Android V6.0 (Marshmallow) as the base OS.
Behind the exotic screen lies a Deca-Core MediaTek MT6797T (Helio X25 chipset) and Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It is the latest processor from Mediatek and has a 3 Cluster architecture to ensure higher battery life and energy efficiency.
To ensure faster lag free multi-tasking there is 4 GB RAM. The Meizu PRO 6s comes with ample amount of storage (64 Gigs).
The smartphone is powered by a non-removable 3060 mAh battery which is a big leap over previous 2560mAh battery (Meizu Pro 6). The smartphone is also equipped with Quick Charge technology.
A finger print sensor is embedded in the home button for rapid unlocking of the device. Though everything was good with Meizu Pro 6, the camera was a let-down for many users.
Meizu Pro 6s is aimed at correcting that. The Meizu Pro 6s comes with a 12 MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture with advanced features like 4 way axis OIS (A major miss in Meizu Pro 6), phase detection, laser auto-focus, featuring geo tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a 10-LED (Dual-Tone) flash. The Meizu Pro 6s also comes with support to shoot 4K videos.
At the front is a 5 MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture to click clear selfies even in the low light condition.
Along with these are all connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band, Wi-Fi direct, hotspot, Bluetooth V4.1 and LTE 4G and 3G connectivity. It comes in Black, White, Silver, Rose Gold color variants.
However, the all new Flyme UI might not be everyone’s cup of tea at the start but once you use it for quite a sometime, it has loads of customization to offer along with gestures and an option to increase the hue on screen allowing a better view at dim lights.
And wait did I forget to mention that there won’t be any navigation bar with back option, home button & recent tabs option? Yes it won’t be there. You gotta use the home button to go back and swipe up from the bottom for recent tabs which is new.
It is expected to cost around 25,000/- in India and is priced at CNY 2499. Though the smartphone is currently available only in China there is no word when Meizu will introduce the device in the Indian market.
Though Meizu has recently launched the budget smartphone in India Meizu M3s price starting Rs. 7,999.
