Meizu today launched 2 new smartphones in the Chinese market named as Meizu U10 and the Meizu U20. Both the smartphones are budget devices and come with metallic edges around the corners and glass back cover.
The Meizu U10 comes with 2 GB of Ram and 16 GB of internal storage priced at CNY 999 or Rs. 10,300 , while the second variant of Meizu U10 comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage priced at CNY 1119 (Rs . 11,300).
The Meizu U20 comes with a large display 5.5 inch in size and also has similar variants based on Ram (2 GB /3GB) and storage (16 GB / 32 GB) priced at CNY 1099 (Rs. 11300) and CNY 1299 (Rs. 13,300). Both the smartphones come with Fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button and has m.touch technology by Meizu for faster response time.
The Meizu U10 has a 5.0 inch screen and comes with HD resolution along with 2.5D curve glass. The 2.5D curve glass is now becoming more common in the budget smartphones while earlier was a feature for premium devices.
The Meizu U10 is powered by an unknown Octa-Core processor and comes in 2 GB Ram /16 GB storage and 3 GB Ram / 32 GB storage variants. The smartphone comes with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front camera to click selfies.
The Meizu U10 is powered by the Android based YunOS and on top of it has a Flyme OS skin. The YunOS has been infamous due to Google’s objection in the past about it for not meeting the Android OS norms and using some of the pirated version of Apps.
Google infact condemned manufacturers from using the OS in the past and even some of the product launches were stopped (Acer was stopped to launch a smartphone) as the OS violated the conditions by Google.
The YunOS is actually developed by Google arch rival Alibaba in China. The YunOS uses the source code for Android and built the UI and other features on top of it. We are not sure that how Google will respond to new Meizu devices running the YunOS or if the older issues have been sorted out recently.
Relationship of Andorid and Yun OS as per Wikipedia:
You can read more about the YunOS or Aliyun OS here on Wikipedia.
The Meizu U10 comes with 2760 mAH battery capacity and has connectivity options like 4G LTE / 3G and 2G along with WIFI and Bluetooth.
The Meizu U20 is also quite similar to the Meizu U10 and runs on same software and processor. The difference lies in the screen size and resolution, it comes with 5.5 inch display and with Full HD (1920*1080) pixels resolution.
The Meizu U 20 comes with 3260 mAH battery capacity and similar connectivity options like the Meizu U10. The smartphone will go on sale in China starting 18th September 2016 while the Meizu U10 will go on sale from 28th August 2016. Both the devices will come in Gold , Black , Silver and Rose gold colors.
The presence of YunOS hints that the smartphones are meant for the Chinese market but Meizu can launch these in other markets like India using Android and Flyme OS combination.
