Micromax Canvas 6 Vs Canvas 6 Pro – The Better Option

The smartphone though named in a congruent manner are not as similar as they sound, so which is the better choice for you ? We will be able to figure out once we go through the intricate detials about both the smartphones.

Micromax launched both these smartphones last month and now they have gone on sale on Flipkart. Micromax recently launched many new smartphones last month including 2 variants of Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro smartphone.

The smartphones are targeted towards buyers looking for high end specs in lower priced mobiles. It is available to pre-order from their own official website too.

Micromax Canvas 6 Priced Rs 13,999

Micromax Canvas 6 is made of aluminum uni-body and sports a fingerprint reader at the back. The smartphone comes with a popular screen size of 5.5 inch with 1080p display and 401ppi.

Canvas 6 is powered by Octa-Core Mediatek MT6753 chipset clocked at 1.3 Ghz, coupled by Mali-T720 GPU. It also features 3 GB Ram sufficient for multi-tasking. The specs are similar to the top selling Lenovo K4 Note which is priced at Rs. 11,999.

There is ample storage with 32 GB inbuilt and expandable option up to 128 GB.

Canvas 6 comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and an 8 megapixel front selfies camera. The battery size is decent to make it run all day (3000 mah). The battery promises to give a whole day of usage with stand by time of 305hrs and Talk-time of 25Hrs

The smartphone misses on the USB Type C, but has the Micro-USB port at the bottom and Dual side speaker grill.

Unsurprisingly it runs on the dated Android Lollipop 5.1 , we would have loved Android Marshmallow which has crawled to 7.5% in Android distribution.

The Micromax Canvas 6 has the new Micromax logo on the bottom of the back cover and a black glass strip on the top. Similar to (visor) found on Google Nexus 6P. Canvas 6 can be bought from Micromax Store or Flipkart, in gold and silver color option and is priced at Rs.13,999.

Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Price 13,999

The second variant Canvas 6 Pro. A phone with subtle plastic design yet powerful specifications.

It also sports 5.5-inch 1080P display. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro is powered by Octa-Core Mediatek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz similar to Letv Le 1S. The processor is comes with 4 GB ram. It is the cheapest smartphone to come with 4 GB RAM.

The smartphone comes with 13 Megapixel rear camera and there is a 5 megapixel front camera for taking selfies.

Egregiously, this model does not sport a fingerprint sensor.

The storage is 16 GB inbuilt with option to expand. Canvas 6 Pro has a similar battery with 3000 mah battery and a Stand by Time of 337hrs and Talk-time of 9 hrs. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box. Similar to the Canvas 6 Pro it is also priced at Rs. 13,999.

Micromax Canvas 6 Vs Canvas 6 Pro – The Better Option

The Canvas 6 is for people who want to flaunt their phone‚Äôs design and have a better camera and more storage. On the other hand the Canvas 6 Pro with it’s Helio X10 processor and 4 GB RAM is ideal for gamers and people looking for a performance device while compromising on the metal build, finger print scanner and storage.

The Canvas 6 Pro misses on some of the essentials like the 32 GB storage and the fingerprint scanner which are available in most of the competition smartphones. Another 1 GB Ram may not help as much in gaming or otherwise. If you play just casual games it makes more sense to go with the Canvas 6 and other wise can opt for the Pro version.

But buyers want everything , and there are plenty of good choices available 2-3k cheaper like Redmi Note 3, LE 1S , Lenovo K4 Note and Huawei Honor 5X.
