Micromax Canvas Fire 4 is a Quad-core smartphone with Android Lollipop operating system and boasts of a whole new sound engine and big sized speakers to enhance your music experience. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 6,999 or $110. Lava also recently launched the music Smartphone – Lava Iris X1 beats in a similar price range.

Does it look like an HTC 620  or I am just imagining things here? The front speakers at the bottom and top of the smartphones make it look like the signature HTC smartphones.

Sound Quality

Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo DAC audio converter is what Micromax claims to enhance the sound output of this smartphone and gives you incredible sound experience with those large sized front speakers

Other than the sound engine it has a quad-core processor.

The smartphone boasts of a 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor Mediatek 6582M with 1 GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and ensure you can add a plethora of apps.

Storage is 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

The Micromax Canvas 4 A107 has 4.5 inch screen with FWVGA(854*480) resolution and corning gorilla glass protection.  FWVGA resolution is not very high and 4.5 inch scree is optimal with it, any higher can make the PPI fall further.


The Camera on Canvas 4 A107 is 8 MP with autofocus and flash, the front camera is 2 MP for clicking selfies.

OS & Connectivity

Micromax has scored big here compared to the competition, the smartphone operates on Android Lollipop 5.0(latest android OS). The material design and non-interrupting calls and messaging along with lock screen notifications make the Android Lollipop really special.

There is a cool feature that Micromax has added the glowing backlight on the logo at the back for notifications when you get an email or notification.

It offers 2G/3G Bluetooth, WIFI connectivity, lacks 4G support.

Battery Life

The smartphone has a modest 2000 mAh battery which is sufficient for making you glide through the day.

Concluding Thoughts

Micromax has packed a lot of good features and specs in the new Micromax Canvas Fire A107, better sound engine, Boom sound speakers, Android Lollipop, decent camera and adequate storage. However, have not provided any details in the press release about the bundled earphones with the smartphone.

It is a good overall smartphone with decent specs, you can look at some more before making a purchase decision.
