The smartphone is the latest addition to the gigantic portfolio of Micromax devices. This time Micromax has made a smartphone for buyers looking for a budget mobile with decent stereo speaker output.

The Micromax Canvas Fire 5 is powered by the Mediatek 6580 Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and comes with 1 GB of RAM. We cannot expect much from the ageing 6580m processor which has been around for almost 1.5 years and is not the fastest of the lot.

The smartphone comes with an 8 Megapixel Rear camera which is placed in the middle of the back cover below the thin antenna lines. There is a led flash with the rear camera it also comes with auto-focus mode. The rear camera is capable of recording Full HD 1080P videos.

The smartphone comes with Micro-USB port and the 3.5 mm jack which is getting obsolete if you are keen to get into the future too fast with the smartphones like LE 2.

Overall the smartphone has some positives like large display and good sound and cons include mediocre processor and lack of 4G.
