Micromax has launched a new ultra-affordable Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus, priced at just Rs. 3,999, and it comes with Oh so sweet Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS. The Android Marshmallow is present on just 4.6% of Android smartphones globally.
Even many of the high-end smartphones are still stuck on the Android Lollipop and Kitkat, which makes the Spark 2 Plus fascinating proposition.
It is the cheapest smartphone in India which runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box. A couple of days back Infocus launched the Infocus Bingo 10 priced at Rs. 4299 which also runs on the Android Marshmallow.
The smartphone is good for first time Android users who want to experience the best of Android, at an affordable price.
Micromax is leaving no stone unturned to hold on to its share in the Indian market. Watch Out Infocus!
The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 will be launched on Snapdeal today and will go on sale starting 22nd April 2016. It is going to sell like the hot potato once launched.
The smartphone comes in 3 color variants – Grey, copper gold, and champagne gold.
Notably, it comes with a 5.0-inch screen with (854*480) pixels display which is okay considering the price range. The smartphone is powered by the Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz.
The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 has 1 GB of RAM which is okay but not great to run the Android Marshmallow OS. Ideally, you should look for a 2 GB smartphone if budget is not a constraint.
Furthermore, the mobile has a 2000 mAH battery capacity which is okay, but I doubt it will last all day, you may need to charge it later in the day.
The phone comes with 3G support while misses on the 4G LTE connectivity. If you are looking for cheaper 4G smartphones in the range of 4K-5K, you may like to read this – 7 Best and Cheap 4G LTE phones in India.
For photography, it has a 5 Megapixel rear camera which comes with Auto-focus and LED Flash. The smartphone comes with 2 MP front camera, which can take low-quality selfies.
Lastly, it comes with Bluetooth, WIFI, and micro-USB support.
