The second smartphone from Yu tele-ventures is launched today in New Delhi at an event hosted by the Yu tele-ventures head Rahul Sharma.
There were many Yuphoria teaser videos already revealed in the last week about the new smartphone by Micromax which hinted of a metal design and 4G lte coverage with boom sound.
We were expecting Micromax to launch a smartphone which will cater to mid-range segment
With budget of Rs. 10,000 or more. Micromax surprised us by launching Yu Yuphoria with Rs. 6,999 price and positioning it below the Yu Yureka.
Motorola did the same when they launched the Moto G first and later came up with Moto E.
Rahul Sharma explained that The Yuphoria is a revolutionary smartphone in terms of design and has gone through various processes for polishing and providing the right contours and finish to the smartphone.
Rahul explained they learnt from automobile and other industries about different manufacturing processes like sandblasting and contouring to get the best finish on the Micromax Yu Yuphoria.
Yuphoria is currently available only with Amazon India and you can register for flash sale with Amazon to buy it on May 28. Check the link to buy and register Yuphoria on Amazon.
Let’s see How the Yu Yuphoria fares Vs its elder sibling Yu Yureka.
The smartphone has a 5.0 inch IPS LCD screen Vs a 5.5 inch screen on the Yu Yureka. The screen resolution is same on both the devices with HD (1280*720) resolution
The Processor used in the Yuphoria is the same used in the Lenovo A6000 and Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen 4G. The 64 Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 powers the Yu Yuphoria.
Yuphoria is one of the cheapest Android Smartphone with 2 GB RAM. Micromax Yureka has 2 GB RAM and Snapdragon 615 processor. The processor on Yureka is bit faster compared to the Yuphoria.
The Yu Yuphoria is a 4G LTE enabled smartphone and Micromax claims that they used a gold plated spring to create better signal capabilities for the 4G Antenna on the Micromax Yuphoria.
The smartphone will run on Android lollipop and Cyanogen OS 12 which offers lots of customization for the Android users.
Rahul Sharma also stated that they have filed 4 patents for the innovations done during the manufacturing of the smartphone.
The smartphone is 8.3 mm thick and has 67% ratio of screen to body. The Yuphoria will be available in two colors Gold and metal grey for initial sale.
The smartphone has adequate storage of 16 GB which can be expanded using a micro-SD card.
The battery capacity is also good with 2380 mAH which is enough to run the smartphone for entire day without second recharge.
The smartphone has a 8 MP rear camera with Autofocus and Led Flash along with a good 5 MP front camera for clicking selfies.
The smartphone will go on sale on Amazon.in on 28 May and will be available only through flash sale for which you will have to register on Amazon starting today at 5:00 PM.
Considering the price of Rs. 6,999 it will definitely create some pressure on Lenovo A6000 and 7000 along with the Motorola’s high selling Moto E.
