More Chinese Mobile Brands to Invade India in 2017: Report : Updated Sept 2017 – There’s no denying the fact that Indian smartphone market is being dominated by Chinese players such as Xiaomi, Coolpad, Lenovo, ZTE, Gionee, Oppo and Vivo etc.
While some of them had tremendous success in the country, some of them had not been so lucky like the LeEco and Meizu.
However, it now looks like more Chinese brands are invading India this year, according to a new report by Economic Times.
The reason for this is that India is the world’ second largest smartphone market and looking at their players getting success in the country, it’s certainly attracting the brands to step into the country.
Recently, a Chinese company named iVoomi entered the Indian market with the iV505 smartphone aimed at the entry-level segment.
The phone packed a 3000 mAh battery and had support for VoLTE as well, which is well-being touted as the next big technology venture in the country.
That said, the report also claims that the Chinese market is loomed down and there’s no growth in the country from the past six months. The smartphone business in India is a big one along with the feature phone business.
With that said, the upcoming Chinese brands are aiming at feature phone business as well, and with Qualcomm announcing the latest Snapdragon 205 Mobile Platform, it opened a big opportunity for the players to launch feature phones with VoLTE support. Something which will help JIO to propel growth and gain more rural customers.
The report also claims that Africa’s leading brands, Transsion Group’s Tecno and Infinix brands are expected to make a debut in India in mid-2017.
Tecno is a Chinese Mobile brand which has focused so far in the Africa market and has been able to grow with it’s popular Tecno Camon C8 smartphone. They also have sub brands like Phantom and Boom.

They have some popular product series like the ZERO, NOTE, HOT S, and HOT.
