Moto E 2015 Will Get Android Marshmallow Update

Great news for the budget Motorola smartphone buyers, as per the recent news from Motorola, they will be updating the Moto E 2015 (2nd Generation 4G) device to Android marshmallow.

Moto E 2015 Will Get Android Marshmallow Update

The Moto E 2015 was launched in 2 variants one with a 3G only support and the second one with 4G LTE support.  As per Motorola Official page only the Moto E 2nd Gen 4G will get the OTA update from Motorola in the coming months.

The update will be rolled out based on geographic location of buyers – 2015 Moto E with 4G in Canada , Latin America, Europe and Asia and excluding China.

When Motorola earlier released the software update roadmap in October 2015, both the Moto E was excluded from the roadmap. The smartphones got launched in 2015, and the exclusion of the devices caused a lot of hue and cry for the Moto E users.

The Motorola Moto E 1st gen and even the Moto E 2nd Gen with 3G will not get the Android Marshmallow update (as per current info). These smartphones will continue to run on the Android Lollipop 5.0.  Particularly bad news for the Moto E 2nd gen 3G smartphone buyers who will miss the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update.

Something to cheer for the Moto G (3G) and Moto G (4G) 2nd generation users that they too will get the latest Android Marshmallow update.

Motorola has already rolled out the Android Marshmallow update on the Moto X Style and will be rolling out the update to Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen, and Moto X Playmobiles in the coming weeks.

Motorola has already started the soak test for India and Brazil Moto X Play owners, and once the version is found stable, Motorola will roll it out to other users.
