The new Moto G 3rd Gen specs are leaked in a video which shows the device is getting yet another major update to the camera. These leaks look quite reliable though till everything is official, it should be taken with a bit of doubt. Some new images surfaced for the upcoming Moto G 3rd Gen smartphones online today(29/June/2015).
The Moto G 1st Gen had the 5 MP camera which is considered sub par to the competition at that point of time as most smartphones in that range had an 8 MP camera. The Moto G 2nd Gen came with an 8 MP camera, but now most devices like Yureka, Huawei Honor 4X Asus Zenphone 2 have a 13 MP camera which give them specs advantage at least if not the real life photography.
Moto G 2nd Gen Vs Moto G 3rd Gen : The front camera for Moto G is also getting bumped up to 5 MP, this is a real positive move by Motorola as they have not focused on the need for clicking selfies so far. Even the much expensive Moto X 2nd gen had an uninspiring 2 MP front camera.
The other specs leaked shows that the smartphone processor is also getting an upgrade from the Snapdragon 400 to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 with 64 Bit architecture. The Moto G 2nd Gen also lacked the 4G connectivity, while India is gearing for the 4G Era in the next 1 year, buyers would love to have a 4G smartphone for high speed connectivity.
Some More Clear Images Got Leaked Recently for Moto G 3rd Gen Smartphone: Update (12-July-2015)
The Moto G 3rd Gen adds 4G capability along with the native support for 3G.
The smartphone still shows 1 GB RAM while most top selling smartphones in this price range have 2 GB RAM.
The screen size for the Moto G 3rd Gen is 5.0 inches and has a resolution of 1280*720 with a pixel density of 294.The new Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 which is also present on the current Gen Moto G smartphone.
The internal storage is 8 GB which can be further expanded to 32 GB using the micro-SD card. This internal storage looks a bit low and we may actually see the 16 GB version getting launched as the current Moto G also has the 16 GB storage. The battery capacity is 2300 mAH for the new Moto G 3rd Gen which is neither very high nor low, will be just adequate to run the smartphone all day. The current Moto G 2nd Gen has 2070 mAH battery capacity and Motorola has done several optimizations to maximize the battery life on it.
The pricing is most likely to be Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 14,000 intially when it gets launched, we can expect it to launch in July end or August 2015.
Overall the device is getting all the right updates needed to compete with the Xiaomi and Micromax budget smartphones in this price range. We would have liked to see the Ram increase to 2 GB from the current 1 GB which sometimes just feel a little less and make UI a bit less smooth than expected.
