The Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen is finally here and is one of the most anticipated smartphone of 2015 in the budget range.
The Motorola Moto G1 was launched in India on 6th February 2014 in an exclusive deal with Flipkart India. The Next Motorola Moto G got launched on 5th September 2015 and both the smartphone are one of the highest selling models in the mid range segment. The key success factors for both the models were good specs, latest Android OS and a beautiful design with robust build quality.
Today( 28/July/2015) the Motorola Moto G 4G or Moto G 2015 3rd Gen got launched and will come in two variants.
There are some of the specs common to both the smartphones while the difference lies with the storage and the RAM capacity.
The lower priced model will have 1 GB of RAM and is going to have 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded to 32 GB using a Micro SD card.
The second variant is going to have a higher 16 GB storage capacity and will come with 2 GB of RAM.
The processor used in both the smartphones is the Qualcomm 64 Bit Chipset Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.4 GHz and comes with Adreno 306 GPU.
The processor has got a slight upgrade in the new Moto G 2015, as the earlier Moto G Gen 2 had the Snapdragon 400 which is quite old now.
In terms of performance the 2 GB RAM and Snapdragon 410 together is a good upgrade vs the last gen moto smartphone.
The Camera in the Moto G is upgraded and both the variants will feature a 13 MP camera with Autofocus and Dual LED flash. The Moto G gen 2 had a 8 MP camera which offered decent image quality we expect the new camera to be better and users can expect great quality clicks from the new Moto G 2015.
The lens has f/2.0 aperture and is capable of recording Full HD videos.
The smartphone front camera is also bumped up to include a 5 MP shooter which will excite the click o maniacs looking forward to click some amazing selfies.
The Moto G 2015 gets the support for high speed 4G data bands and will be able to work with 4G networks in India. The Dual sim smartphone will also have support for native 3G/2G and WIFI connectivity.
The smartphone will run on the latest Android OS Lollipop out of the box and will offer near stock android experience without too many bloated apps.
There is no change in the screen size and resolution, the screen size is 5.0 inches with HD (1280*720) p resolution, the PPI is 288 which is decent but still we would have liked a Full HD screen on the higher priced variant.
The screen has Gorilla Glass 3 protection like the previous gen of Moto G mobiles.
The battery capacity has been increased to 2470 mAH which is more than sufficient with the HD screen and the less power hungry processor on the Moto G. You will easily be able to spend the entire day without need for a second recharge.
The build quality of the device looks as good as the previous generations of Moto G smartphone and design got few changes though the curvy corners are still part of the Moto G smartphone. The design is good and easy to handle and work with smoother fine contours.
The smartphone’s key strength is the new improved Camera – Both Front and Rear and improved Processor and RAM which makes the new Moto G even more desirable than the old one.
