There is a home screen button which also has an embedded fingerprint scanner.
The square fingerprint scanner button makes the device look distinct from all curved rectangular home button Samsung phones and round fingerprint scanner used in the iPhones. The back cover has a matte finish and on the sides, we have a metallic edge which makes it look more robust.

As far as the specs go the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 is a little faster compared to the SD 616 used on the Moto G turbo but the good addition is having 3 GB RAM which has been missing on current Moto devices.
The Moto G4 Plus gets and upgraded camera with a 16 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture (uses Omni-vision Purcell plus sensor with larger 1.3-micron sensor). The camera comes with PDAF and laser autofocus to improve the focus speed and accuracy. There is Dual Color balancing LED flash mounted in the same assembly at the back.
