Motorola has yesterday launched the watered down version of the Motorola Moto G5 Plus on Amazon. Notably, the Motorola Moto G5 Plus was recently launched on Flipkart priced at Rs 14,999 onwards.
Both the Moto G5 and the G5 Plus were unveiled at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona at the end of Feb 2017. While the Moto G5 Plus has got a great initial response from Moto fans in India due to the decent camera performance, G5 will need some more evaluation as it comes with a different camera sensor compare to the G5 Plus.
The Motorola Moto G5 will go on sale on 4th April 2017 on Amazon India at 12:00 p.m and the smartphone is priced at Rs. 11,999. The Moto G5 comes in 2 colors lunar grey and fine gold.
The Moto G5 comes in 1 single variant in the Indian market with 16 GB of storage and 3 GB of Ram. The storage is expandable upto 128 GB using a dedicated memory card slot.
Both the Moto G5 and the G5 Plus look identical from outside and comes with premium aluminum metallic design. The design language is new for the G5 compared to the older Motorola models but it is also quiet curvy and easy to hold.
The Moto G5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa Core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and comes with the Adreno 505 GPU. It is a 28 Nm process based Qualcomm Chipset. The smartphone as mentioned above will be available in 2 variants with 2 / 3 GB RAM and 16 / 32 GB ram.
The Motorola Moto G5 comes with a 5.0 inch display with Full HD resolution (1920*1080) pixels and 443 PPi. The smartphone will be available on Gold and Grey color options.
The G5 comes with a 13 Mega Pixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. The front camera is a 5 MP shooter for clicking selfies. The Moto G5 comes with Dual Sim support and also has connectivity options like 4G LTE and VOLTE.
The smartphone runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 with least amount of bloat. Though the key highlight of the Moto G5 is the Google Assistant which was initially available on the pixel phones, exclusively.
The Moto G5 has 2800 mAH capacity battery which comes with Motorola Turbo Charging support which in our previous experience and test is quiet fast.
The G5 Plus and G5 comes with a new oval shaped fingerprint scanner at the front which also support one button navigation mode – you can swipe on the fingerprint left or right for Navigation, in case you don’t want to use the navigation keys.
While the smartphone has got decent specs, design and camera.
There is latest OS and Full HD Display the only gripe is 16 GB of storage which may be okay for most people using the phone with a dedicated memory card some of the buyers would have wanted the higher 32 GB storage variant also.
