Motorola has launched the new Moto Z smartphone in the Indian market, and it is priced at Rs. 39,999. The smartphone will go on sale on Flipkart and Amazon starting 17th October’16 at 11:59 pm.
The Moto Z is Lenovo’s take on the modularity and comes with Moto Mods. The differentiating design factor of Moto Z apart from being a modular smartphone is its sleek design. The smartphone is incredibly thin and measures just 5.2 mm. It is the worlds thinnest flagship smartphone.
Despite off thin frame, the smartphone comes with passable 2600 mAH battery capacity. The Moto Z is also light in weight and weighs 136 gram.
The Moto Z offers all-metal premium build and comes with a large camera dial at the back which protrudes outward. There are magnetic strips at the back to connect to the Moto Mods, which in my opinion spoil the looks. The front side has a 5.5-inch screen protected by Corning’s gorilla glass 4. There is a fingerprint scanner which resides below the screen similar to the Moto G4 Plus.
There is no 3.5 mm jack on the Moto Z, and it uses the futuristic USB Type C port to charge as well as listen to music. You will need a USB type C port compatible earphone. Also, Motorola is giving a 3.5 mm to USB port connector along with the smartphone which can be handy to use your old pair of headphones. It is similar to Apple iPhone 7 that ditched the 3.5 mm jack to add the lightning connector.
The Moto Z comes with 5.5 inch AMOLED display along with Quad HD resolution(2560*1440) pixels. The smartphone comes with 64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded further using a micro-sd card.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and has 4 GB of Ram.
Furthermore, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with near stock android experience.
For photography, it comes with a 13 Megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, Optical image stabilization, and fast autofocus.
Also, the rear camera is capable of recording 4K videos. There is a 5-megapixel front camera with wide angle lens, and there is a dedicated flash.
The smartphone comes with Hybrid Dual Sim along with support for 4G LTE / VOLTE data network. The Moto Z offers NFC connectivity and also has all the essential connectivity options.
The Moto Mods
What’s more, you can use the Moto Z with the Moto Mods. The price of the Incipio OffGrid power Shells is Rs. 5999 in India and if you purchase that along with the Moto Z the bundled price is Rs. 4999.
InstaShare Projector will come in at Rs. 15,999, not a small price, JBL SoundBoost also will set you back by Rs. 5999 and Hasselblad TrueZoom MotoMod is again pretty expensive and costs Rs. 14,999.
Also, Motorola has launched the cheaper variant Moto Z Play in India which is available for Rs. 24,999.
Motorola has not launched the Moto Z Force in India which also got launched in the US market back on June 16.
