Intex had the first media event in Mumbai and we were able to attend the event at Lower Parel. Intex released 3 new 4G VOLTE smartphones in India at the event held on 7th Feb 2017.
Intex Aqua 4.0, Aqua Crystal, Aqua Supreme+ ranging from Rs 4,199, Rs 6,990, Rs 9,490 respectively. All the smartphones are entry-level phones with decent specs and aimed at budget buyers.
Aqua 4.0 4G (Price Rs. 4199)
The Aqua 4.0 comes with a 4 inch (360*640) resolution protected by Asahi glass. It is powered by an unnamed Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. The processor is paired with a mere 512 MB ram and has 4 GB of internal storage. Fortunately, the storage is expandable up to 32 GB.
The Aqua 4.0 features 2 MP (Fixed Focus) rear camera and VGA (0.3MP, Fixed Focus) front shooter with f/2.8 aperture.
As the name suggests it supports 4G/VoLTE along with FM Radio, GPS WLAN, and Bluetooth v4.1. Keeping the phone powered is 1500mAh. In the box, one gets the handset, battery, screen guard, User Manual, Adapter, Earphones and USB cable.
It’s available in Black, Blue, and Champagne color options. It is a very basic smartphone aimed at low-end buyers.
Price Rs. 6990
Aqua Crystal is slightly expensive offering from Intex and comes with a white glossy finish design. It features a glass finish and almost looks similar to the more expansive and stylish OnePlus X.
The Crystal comes in Black and White variants. It sports a 5 inch HD (720*1280) display with a screen-to-body ratio of 74.60%. Its driven by MediaTek MT6737T 64-bit quad-core SOC paired with 1 GB of RAM. The phone comes with 8 GB of storage, which is double the internal storage found on Aqua 4.0 4G. Storage can also be expanded up to 32 GB, using a micro-sd card.
The Intex Crystal 4G features 8 MP (Fixed Focus) rear camera and 5 MP (Fixed Focus) front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Powering the phone is 2100 mAH battery pack. Intex claims that it can give standby time up to 200hrs and Talktime GSM up to 6hrs.
The pre-loaded app named LFTY (it basically is left screen concept that allows utilities to float in from the left side of the screen).
Its the most expensive offerings out of the 3 smartphones released by Intex. It has a more premium build and design compared to the other two devices.
The phone flaunts a 5 inch HD (720*1080) display protected by Soda Lime Glass. It runs on the same MediaTek MT6737 SOC clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB.
The phone flaunts 13 MP (Auto Focus) f/2.0 rear camera and 5 MP (Fixed Focus) f/2.2 selfie shooter.
The Supreme+ runs on a rather decently sized 3000 mAh battery pack. It comes with dual-SIM and 4G/VoLTE support.
The mobile is loaded with Indus OS on top of Android Marshmallow 6.0, which has 9 language keyboard. Intex has also integrated a tracking technology in-case to find the lost phone.
There’s Indus Swipe, which basically allows the user to swipe over the word and translate it from English to any preferred language. The Supreme Plus will be available in White, Black, and Champagne color options.
Intex Aqua Crystal and Aqua Supreme+ come with inbuilt apps such as MiFon security and Vistoso which are basically apps focused on providing more security for your phone data.
All the phones come with Android Marshmallow 6.0. There is no fingerprint scanner in any of the above smartphones from Intex.
