Micromax has launched two new selfie Centric smartphones in India. The Canvas selfie 4 and the Bolt selfie.
Micromax continues to release selfie smartphones and it has made four models in the canvas selfie series which has decent front facing camera.
The company also introduced a Selfie phone to its budget “Bolt” series named as Bolt selfie. Bolt selfie will be a low budget alternative in its selfie smartphone range.
Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 Smartphone
The Canvas Selfie 4 packs better specs as compared to the bolt selfie smartphone. The price for the Canvas Selfie 4 is yet not announced by Micromax.
It features a 5 inch screen encasing a HD display (1280*720 pixels).
Highlight for the Canvas selfie 4 is its selfie camera with a 8 Mega Pixel sensor camera at the front, while the rear camera is also 8 MP resolution and comes with LED flash.
Oddly, the front camera doesn’t have any illumination inspite being a selfie focused smartphone. Which makes it less useful device in low light conditions.
Meanwhile it has a tap sensor at the rear which acts as a shutter button for camera, and also as an answer key for incoming calls.
This kind of rear control in smartphone was first introduced by LG for its LG G3, later on Asus also used the rear control buttons on some of its Zenfone series mobiles.
On the processor front, the canvas selfie 4 packs a 1.3 GHz Quad core processor and has meager 1 GB of RAM.
Canvas Selfie 4 has 8 GB of internal storage with an SD card slot for expansion (up to 32 GB).
The good news is that the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0, and its one among the few smartphones that Micromax has launched that comes with the latest Google OS.
On the downside, this smartphone lacks 4G LTE connectivity which is present in its low-cost sibling the Bolt selfie.

Micromax Bolt Selfie Smartphone
Now coming to the features of Bolt Selfie. This smartphone offers watered down features in comparison to the Canvas Selfie 4. The Bolt Selfie comes with a 5 MP camera for both front and back side. It has a 4.5 inch screen and 1 GHz Quad-core processor which runs along with 1GB of RAM.
The Bolt Selfie Smartphone has an internal storage space of 8 GB which can be expanded to 32 GB using a Micro-Sd card.
The smartphone packs 4G which makes it a worthy consideration apart from its mediocre hardware specs.
Both the smartphones were loaded with software to add post-processing image effects and make the selfies look better.
The smartphone will be available by the end of this month through Flipkart and will also go on sale through physical retail stores.
On the launch event, Shubhajit Sen CMO of Micromax, said, “Selfies are now the most popular type of photos snapped on a smartphone, with over a million selfies taken per day and 48 percent of that are shared on Facebook alone.
