The new Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 smartphone was unveiled on the Samsung’s official website. The Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 is the budget 4G LTE series smartphone was long awaited to get launched in India. Samsung has now launched the smartphone with an exclusive tie up with Snapdeal and is priced Rs. 8990.
The smartphone was revealed by the Chinese Samsung website and comes with specs quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy J5.
Bike Mode – The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with NFC support and you can pair your smartphone with the NFC by just touching it. The smartphone Bike Mode can be enabled then and if you are driving the smartphone sends a message to the caller that you are driving or any other customized message.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 is expected to have Dual Sim support along with the 4G LTE support. The smartphone supports both the TDD LTE bands as well as the FDD LTE bands for 4G network.
The smartphone features a similar design like the Samsung Galaxy J5 and the J7. The Samsung Galaxy J3 is available in Gold, Silver and black colors.
Design – The Samsung J3 is made of poly-plastic and comes with the Samsung Logo at the front top and the back of the device. The physical touch button is located at the bottom like most Samsung Galaxy Smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 has a 7.99 mm thickness which is not too high and can be dubbed as a thin device. The weight is also ideal with 138 grams.
Display – The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with a 5.0 inch screen size with Super AMOLED display. The J3 offers HD (1280*720) resolution with 293 PPI, which is decent for reading as well as watching videos.
Performance – The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with a Quad-Core processor and most likely is a Spreadtrum clocked at 1.5 Ghz. Neither has Samsung nor Snapdeal has shared the name of processor which is weird of them to hide a key component details.
The processor is accompanied by 1.5 GB of Ram, Samsung has been a miser when it comes to adding RAM to the mobiles. Another 0.5 GB would not have hurt.
Storage – The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with 8 GB of storage out of which only 4.1 GB is available for the users, rest is occupied by the Android OS and the Samsung Apps. It comes with 128 GB of expandable memory option, which you can utilize with a memory card.
OS – The Galaxy J3 runs on the Android Lollipop 5.1 along with the Samsung’s signature touchwiz UI.
Camera – The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with 8 Mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and Auto focus support. The front camera is also intended for users looking to take selfies. The front camera comes with a wide angle 5 mega pixel lens.
Battery Capacity – The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with a decent battery capacity of 2600 mAH, considering the processor and screen resolution the battery can easily last whole day with moderate to heavy usage.
Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with specs closer to the Samsung Galaxy J5, the Camera in the Samsung Galaxy J5 is however superior with 13 Mega pixel resolution. The other aspect which is toned down by Samsung in J3 is the Storage from 16 GB in the Samsung J5 to 8GB of internal storage in the Samsung J3.
The Samsung J3 is priced at Rs. 8,990 and it competes with the Lenovo K3 Note, Coolpad Note 3 and Yu Yuerka Plus in this price range. The Samsung J5 has got good success in the Indian market and is currently priced at Rs. 12,000 which is also going to get refreshed by the Samsung J5 2016.
