When 3G was introduced in India, users loved the data speed and gradually started abandoning 2G. Now, due to Reliance JIO, the majority of Indians are enjoying the lightning-fast 4G speed.
Who doesn’t love good data speed! The smartphone users are waiting to use 5G next. Users anticipate that their service provider will soon offer the 5G technology. Terahertz Is Significantly Faster than 5G
Scientists have developed next Gen system i.e. Terahertz transmitter which can transfer digital data at a speed of 10 times faster than 5th Generation of the mobile network. This new technology can change our habits of transmitting data.
Researchers in Japan from National Institute of Information and Communications Technology and Hiroshima University are developing ‘Terahertz transmitter’ which would be capable of transferring digital data at a speed of 100 Gigabits per second over a single channel using 300 GHz band. That is fast enough for me to download all seasons of Game of Thrones in less than a second.
THz is new frequency resource which will be used for ultra high-speed wireless communication in future. Scientists have made a Transmitter that was successful in achieving a speed of 105 GB /sec utilizing the frequency range from 290 GHz to 315 GHz. The speed achieved was at least 10 times faster speed than the 5G network.
With this new technology and faster speed, they successfully transferred a DVD (full of content) in a fraction of a second which can be regarded as a new milestone.
Minoru Fujishima from Hiroshima University said, “This year, we developed a transmitter with 10 times higher transmission power than the previous version’s. This made the per-channel data rate above 100 Gbit per second at 300 GHz possible.
We usually talk about wireless data rates in megabits per second or gigabits per second. But we are now approaching terabits per second using a plain simple single communication channel. Fibre optics realized ultrahigh-speed wired links, and wireless links have been left far behind”.
Fujushima further added, “Terahertz could offer ultrahigh-speed links to satellites as well, which can only be wireless. That could, in turn, significantly boost in-flight network connection speeds, for example.
Terahertz transmitter will indeed help us to download things very faster i.e. the Internet speed which you haven’t imagined ever. This is a great achievement by Japan researchers and it is definitely a breakthrough in technology. Super Fast Wireless Internet is now not a Dream.
