Nokia has launched 3 new phones at the ongoing MWC in Barcelona – the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 and Nokia 3310. Nokia has also announced that the Nokia 6 will be launched globally in Q2 2017 (after April).
(Update 7th June 2017 – As per the recent information the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 is expected to launch in India on 13 June 2017. The Nokia 3310 is already available in the country for a price of Rs. 3310.)
For starters, Nokia has re-imagined and launched the Nokia 3310 on the popular demand from global Nokia fans. Further, Nokia announced that the Nokia 3 and 5 smartphones will come with the latest Os and they will continue to get future Android updates. As per a recent post by HMD global, all the Nokia phones – Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will get Android Oreo update.
Let’s Look at the new Nokia smartphone line up in detail. Starting with the Nokia 5.
Nokia 5 looks quite similar to the Nokia 6 and is made of 6000-grade aluminum(same as Nokia 6) with premium and robust build quality. The front side has a 5.2 inch HD Display (1280*720 pixels) and comes with 2.5 D curve glass. The Nokia logo is visible at the front and back.
The display has 500 nits maximum brightness, and even comes with Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with just 2 GB of Ram.
Further, the Nokia 5 runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 OS and has a 3000 mAH capacity battery.
The device is available for Euro 189 or Rs 13,230. For its price, the build and design are astonishingly good. For photography, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. And even has a selfie camera at the front with 8.0 Megapixel resolution and auto-focus support.
Additionally, it comes with 16 GB of internal storage expandable upto 128 GB using the micro-sd card slot. Notably, the Nokia 5 has 8.05 mm of thickness and will be available in Blue, Black, Copper, and Silver color variants.
The India Price for the Nokia 5 is expected to be Rs. 11,999 and to be release date is 13 June.
For starters, the Nokia 3 looks different compared to both the elder siblings and come with a poly-carbonate build instead of aluminum. Moreover, the front side has a 5.0 inch HD Display (1280*720) pixels and comes with 2.5 D curve glass.
The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the display that has a maximum brightness of 450 nits. Also, there is a MediaTek 6737, 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor powering the phone. Similar to Nokia 5, it has 2 GB of Ram.

Furthermore, the Nokia 3 runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS and has a 2650 mAH capacity battery.
For shutterbugs, it has an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and there is also a selfie camera with 8.0 Megapixel resolution with auto-focus support.
Besides, the device comes with 16 GB of internal storage expandable to 128 GB using the micro-sd card slot. Notably, the Nokia 3 is slightly thicker measures 8.5 mm in thickness. It is available in Blue, Black, Copper White and Silver White color variants.
Lastly, the device is available for Euro 139 or Rs 9750.
The classic Nokia 3310 is back in a more modern avatar. The feature phone is available for Euro 49 or Rs. 3310. The Nokia 3310 comes in 4 different colors Red, Yellow, Blue, and Silver.
The key highlight of the phone is it’s cute looks and a month-long battery standby capacity. The re-imagined Nokia 3310 comes with a 2.4-inch polarized curve screen display.
Above all, the phone comes with the classic Snakes game that was super addictive, at least in the days of original 3310. Additionally, it offers beautiful push buttons and a 2-megapixel rear camera. There is even a headphone jack to listen to music and it may come in a Dual Sim variant.
Furthermore, the phone will have support for 2G calling only, won’t work with JIO network. Also, there is FM radio and 16 MB of internal storage but you can add a micro-sd card upto 32 GB.
In conclusion, the Nokia 3310 is a cute looking mobile that you can use as a secondary phone with no need for charging at least for 2 days.
Nokia also announced that a new Arte Black Nokia 6 variant. It will be available at the global launch for Euro 299 or Rs. 21000 along with the normal black Color variant that retails for Euro 229 or 16080. It is not clear yet if Nokia will launch the ARTE Black variant in India, we may have to wait for some days for clarity.
Firstly, the Nokia 6 comes with 5.5 Inch Full HD Display with 2.5 D curve glass. It even has a fingerprint scanner on the front home button. There is Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core processor powering the phone.
There is ample storage as it comes with 32 GB of internal memory and even has 3 GB of RAM. For photography, there is a 16 MP rear camera with Dual LED Flash. Selfie lovers can use the 8 MP front-facing camera.
The Nokia 6 like the other models run on the Android Nougat 7.0 OS and will even receive the Android O update. There is 3000 mAH capacity battery and the device supports 4G LTE as well as VOLTE.
The expected price for the Nokia 6 is 15,999 and will release in India on 13 June.
The global launch for new Nokia line-up is likely in coming months. Above all, there was a video showing Indian Women Biker gang at the Nokia MWC presentation. As clearly emphasized in the video, Nokia is betting big on the India market.
After all, India is a ray of hope for Nokia in comparison to the saturated western/Chinese markets.

Notably, Foxconn will make the Nokia phones in India, as part of Made in India initiative. Aforementioned, the devices are likely to hit the markets on 13 June 2017 and will be available online as well as offline. Nokia phones will be on sale on Flipkart and Amazon as well as retail stores.
Additionally, HMD global will handle the after sales service. They will set up Nokia service centers across India to provide the best service to Nokia users.
Lastly, since the smartphones are made in India we can expect a lower price compared to the Euro prices shared above. It will be intriguing to see the relaunch of Nokia in the Indian market.
