Notably, Apple recently launched the new iPhone 12 series, and they are really pricey in India compared to the US. In contrast, the price for Oneplus is far more affordable than Apple in India.
Oneplus 8T Price in the US $749 (Rs. 54,900), Launch Price in India – Rs. 42,999. iPhone 12 Price in US $699 (Rs. 51,000), Launch Price in India – Rs. 79,900.
It makes a lot of sense to buy Oneplus mobiles in India than buying an iPhone.
Let’s Check out the detailed Specs and standout features for the Oneplus.
Oneplus 8T Specs and Features
The Oneplus 8T comes with a rectangular camera assembly at the back that looks familiar to the Galaxy S20 series. It is available for purchase in a shiny green and a subtle grey color variant.
I like the subtle grey color variant more. Well, it boils down to personal preference.
The front side has a full view display and a punch-hole camera that is aligned to the left.
The phone features a 6.55 inch Full HD(2400*1080) Pixels Fluid AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and offers a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass protection and offers a wide color gamut, and has features like reading and night mode.
The phone is not very thick and measures 8.4 mm, and weighs 188 grams.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Processor and the Adreno 650 GPU capable enough to run all modern games with high settings at ease.
Additionally, it comes with 8/12 GB of DDR4X Ram to ensure smooth multitasking performance.
The phone runs on the Android 11 and has one of the cleanest UI skins from OnePlus – Oxygen OS 11 to offer a superior user experience. Also, Oneplus ensures that their mobiles get future OS updates and hence are worthy of purchase for the long term.
Let’s talk about cameras. The phone comes with Quad-Rear cameras with a primary sensor as Sony IMX586 (48 MP), f/1.7, EIS, and OIS support. The secondary camera is a 16 MP ultra Wide lens that comes with an f/2.2 aperture. Next, we have 2 small lenses 5 MP Macro and a 2 MP Monochrome lens.
The Sony IMX 586 is not the latest sensor or the best you can get in this range; however, the presence of OIS can still make it click decent images in all lighting conditions.
The camera can record 4K, 60 FPS videos, and record super slow-motion videos at 480FPS at 720p resolution.
At the front, we have got a 16 MP Sony IMX 471 based selfie camera that also has EIS and Fixed focus to click detailed images.
One of the key highlights of the Oneplus 8T is its fast charging. The 65 Watts Fast charging support can charge the device from 0 to 100% in just 39 minutes. Mind-blowing!!!
What’s more – the 8T comes with 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, apTX HD, LDAC support. Also, it has face unlocking and an in-display fingerprint scanner for improved security. There is no headphone jack or expandable storage, but we get the USB Type-C port and has Dual Sim-Slots.
Lastly, the phone comes with Dual Stereo Speakers and also has Dolby Atmos Support.
I think apart from the cameras – we are getting everything top-notch on the new Oneplus 8T. It is durable, fast, and can easily be a good companion for 2-3 years. Also, it supports 5G to be a good option if you live in a Metro that may get to see 5G launch in the next 1-2 years.
So, overall for the price, it is a great option if you have a budget of 40k to 45k, for those looking for more battery life and slightly better performance can opt for the Asus Rog Phone 3.
P.S. – Unlike the new iPhones, we will get the charger inside the box.

Which is a better Choice – Oneplus 8T, Oneplus Nord, or the Oneplus 8 Pro?
Oneplus 8 Pro is obviously expensive, but it comes with much better cameras and a Quad-HD display that’s more immersive. You are getting the extra features that you are paying for.
The Nord is cheaper but at the same time comes with a mid-range Snapdragon 765 processor that you may feel outdated in 2 years in comparison to SD 865, which is roughly 30 to 40% faster than the SD 765.
All three are pretty solid options and are priced adequately. Pick the one that fits your budget, and if you are too picky about cameras and display quality, the 8 Pro may be the best option.
Oneplus has also launched a new Grey color variant of the Oneplus Nord that too will go on sale soon. Additionally, the company has expanded the headphones portfolio by launching the Oneplus Buds Z, affordable TSW headphones, that will sell for Rs. 2999.
