There is a new smartphone from Oppo called as “OPPO A77T” which is recently spotted on the Chinese benchmark website TENAA. The Oppo A77 which was released back in 17th May in China already has a new variant which is expected to launch soon.
It was spotted on the TENAA certification, by GSM Arena. Oddly, the model doesn’t look similar to the Oppo A77 released earlier. Instead, it looks more like the newly released Oppo R11 smartphones.
Oppo recently released the Oppo R11 Plus and Oppo R11 too in China and the line up for the selfie giant is looking crowded with new smartphones in the similar price range with little differentiation. Front side actually looks more like Samsung mobiles.
Design wise the phones have a standard front with chunky top and bottom bezels and slim side frames. There’s also the oval shaped home button, which serves the purpose of a fingerprint sensor.
The back of the phone is where you’ll see some tweaks compared to the previous A77. It retains the metal design but comes with a new matte black finish. Oppo A77T has iPhone 7 like antenna bands instead of the “3 string antennas” from the Oppo F3 series.
The placement of the rear camera sensor along with the LED flash under the same glass cover, gives it a false impression of a dual camera set-up.
The phone will run the latest Android N v7.1.1 out of the box with their Color OS skin on top. It’ll also flaunt a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS LCD display panel with 2.5 D curved glass on top. The smartphone looks sleek from the rendered images.
As far as the specs are concerned, TENAA certification has not yet disclosed the processor’s name. Although, the unknown Octa-core SOC is clocked at 2.0 GHz, gives a slight hint of a chipset from the Helio P series or a Snapdragon 600 series SOC.

The listing reveals that the upcoming A77T might sport a 3115 mAh battery compared to the 3200 mAh battery in the previous iteration. Oddly, even after packing in a smaller battery, the new A77 is slightly on the thicker side by measuring in at 7.4 mm vs 7.2 mm.
Apart from the similar 13 MP rear and 16 MP front camera set-up. There is no information on the RAM and storage mentioned for the variant. Although, the certification points to a release for their mainland China. There’s no official release date as of yet, but sooner or later Oppo will disclose the information with
The smartphone will get launched in China first and is likely to happen in July 2017 while availability for India or other countries is not known yet.
