Oppo F3 Powered By Mediatek 6750T 4GB RAM Selfie Mobile Launched
Chinese smartphone vendor, Oppo has launched its latest selfie smartphone, the Oppo F3 in India. Mostly, the Oppo F3 is a stripped down variant of the Oppo F3 Plus, unveiled on 27 March.
Update – 15/May/2017 – The Oppo F3 has gone on sale today in India.
As teased earlier, the Oppo F3’s highlight feature is the dual front-facing camera. Notably, the Dual camera setup is similar to the Oppo F3 Plus. Buyers can own a dual front camera phone, for less than 20k.
Further, the best selfie phone battle is going to intensify, the Gionee A1 and Vivo V5s are the other top contenders.
Being a smaller variant of the Oppo F3 Plus, the Oppo F3 flaunts a 5.5-inch display with 1080*1920 pixels resolution. Moreover, the screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Oppo F3 Comes with Weak Processor
Also, the newly announced device is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek MT6750T chipset with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz.
Nevertheless, It is not the fastest chipset and scores around 38,000 on the Antutu benchmark, same as the MTK 6753 used in phones like Lenovo K4 Note.
We recently tested the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 powered by Snapdragon 625; it scores around 64,000 on Antutu Benchmark.
Recently, Gionee also launched the Gionee A1 for Rs. 19,999 that competes with the Oppo F3 and comes with a faster Helio P10 processor that scores around 49,000 on Antutu. Also, I did a review of the Gionee A1 that you can read.
The Oppo F3 processor is not the best for playing high-end games on Full HD resolution and compared to rivals offers slower performance. Although for non-gamers it will be able to handle all the necessary tasks with ease.
Accompanying the chipset is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Additionally, there is Mali-T860 GPU handles the graphics performance on the phone.
Dual Selfie Cameras
Coming to the USP of Oppo F3, it has two cameras at the front with 16 MP and 8 MP lens. Notably, the 8 MP sensor captures wide-angle images up to 120-degrees; it can take ‘Group Selfies.’ Besides, the other 16 MP sensor has support for f/2.0 aperture and captures wide-angle pictures up to 76.4-degrees.

The Oppo F3 runs on latest version of Color OS, 3.0 version. Also, it has features such as double tap to light up the screen and support for gestures.
As far as battery is concerned, the F3 has a 3200 mAh capacity battery with support for Oppo’s VOOC charging technology.
Availability, Selfie Wars, and Competition
Furthermore, Oppo has already started taking pre-orders for the phone and will continue until 12 May, and the first sale of the phone is scheduled to happen on May 13. Also, Oppo is planning to strengthen offline channels and to do so it will be available in a majority of retail outlets.
Oppo has been growing the selfie smartphone portfolio, and there are a lot of people who want to buy selfie smartphones without caring about the processor performance. For them, it is a better offering than the Oppo F1s that offers an HD display for an almost similar price.
Lastly, the selfie war is intensifying with every passing day as brands are launching better camera phones.
Back in January 2016, Vivo launched the world’s first dual front-facing camera smartphone, followed by Oppo with the launch of Oppo F3 Plus.
Recently we published how Oppo is the fastest growing brand and also a detailed report from Counterpoint research indicate that selfie smartphones are quite popular in the Indian market.
