The Oppo R5s borrows lots of elemental features from the Oppo R5 – the signature 4.85 mm thickness is maintained in the new OPP R5s which makes it special.
The Opp R5 was the world’s slimmest smartphone with 4.85 mm thickness before Vivo X5 Max was launched which measures 4.75 mm thickness. Micromax the home grown tech giant launched the Micromax Silver 5 measuring 5.1 mm end to end thickness and claimed that Vivo and the Oppo has a protruding camera which don’t make them thinnest in the end to end measurement.
The Oppo R5s bring some improvements over the Oppo R5 – the storage space in the Oppo R5s has been increased from 16 GB to 32 GB.

The Oppo R5s has a 2000 mAH battery which is bit low compared to most smartphones these days coming with 3000 mAH battery capacity, a price to pay for the thinness. The smartphone is light weight and weighs 155 grams despite the metal body.
Oppo R5s though is an appealing smartphone and can attract a lot of users looking to own slim mobile with a price tag of 20 – 25K in India.
Should You buy the Oppo R5s – Functionally battery can be a pain point for the users which may last only till evening on a single charge and definitely slim smartphone buyers would hate to carry the power bank with them. On the pricing front the smartphone is expensive even if we factor in the design and metallic finish
