Review Antec VP 500P PC Power Supply

Mr. Kevan Li, Business Head – Indian Subcontinent & MEA, Antec Inc., said, “The demand for Reliability, Performance, and Energy Saving has been increasing for the PC due to constant upgrade in PC hardware and software and increasing electricity costs. The BP and VP series that ensure ‘REAL and CONTINUOUS Power’ with high efficiency to save electricity bills.

About Antec –  Antec started in the year 1986 and has the headquarter in Fremont, California, with additional offices in The Netherlands, Germany, China and Taiwan. It is a renowned global brand that manufactures and sell PC hardware and peripherals. Antec is operational in India for many years and is one of the most reliable brands in the PC Hardware.

Most of the power supplies have a long life and you can use some of these for more than 10 years without facing any issues.  The warranty provided by Antec is for 2 years on All PSU’s mentioned in the article.

All three PSUs are aimed at Home PC Segment, can be used with the gaming and non-gaming machines.

The power supply is available for Rs. 3499 in the market and various online stores. The VP 500 is ideal if you are building a Gaming PC for Rs. 30,000 to 50,000 and wish to Run a Core i3, AMD FX 4300 or FX 6300 processor along with Nvidia GTX 740, GTX 750 or 750 Ti, can also be used with the AMD R7 240X, AMD R7 250X, and R7 260X. It will suitable for running cards in crossfire or SLI but for low-end cards for the high-end cards like GTX 960 you may require a 600 Watts PSU.

Why do we need a PSU(Power Supply) in PC?

A power supply converts mains AC to low-voltage regulated DC power for the internal components of a computer, as computer components can’t handle the direct AC power.  It also protects the computer components from over and under voltage.

Several direct-current voltages are required, and they must be regulated with some accuracy to provide stable operation of the computer.

Review Antec VP 500P PC Power Supply

The Antec 500 Watts PSU  has 82% efficiency which makes sure that your electricity bill does not make you get the shock. The expected price for the Power supply is $50 or Rs. 3500 in the Indian market.

The PSU has 2 x 6-pin PCI – E Multi PCI-E – 2 PCI-E connectors for multiple GPU support, so you can connect more than 1 graphics card in case required.

With certain states having power issues in India a good PSU is a must to have to protect damage to your motherboard, processor, and the Graphics card. A little investment in a good PSU can go a long way

Even if you are building a low-cost Gaming PC or Home PC, I would always recommend you to buy a Good PSU, as the investment in a good PSU ensures that your PC runs longer and for more years, without failure.
