Reliance JIO is coming and telecom and mobile industry are preparing for the bloodbath. The price war will leave many small players wounded or even dead.
Recently, I went on a telecom retailer visit. Where I found out that the retailers are very pleased with the unlimited data and voice offers.
Also, Reliance is working to build a robust network at least in the major metro areas to offer incredibly fast 4G LTE network.

Reliance JIO offers Unlimited 4G LTE Data for 3 Months
Some days back, dwindling Reliance communications’ CDMA business has offered customers in Mumbai, Delhi, Maharashtra and AP circles to use the RJIO’s 4G LTE network that is a lifeline for the RCOM business.
Reliance communication has lost market share to Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea in the last couple of years and its subscriber base has also shrunk. In nutshell, the RCOM business is not doing too well for the last couple of years.
Additionally, the CDMA technology is not preferred by Telecoms globally. And all other Indian operators are utilizing the more efficient GSM network technology.
It is a silver lining for the Anil Ambani led Reliance Communication and a positive move by the elder brother Mukesh Ambani. Jio and RCOMs will have synergy to use share and use infrastructure, to fight other major telecom operators.
RJIo’s launch has been delayed due to many reasons. One of the major reason according to Industry sources is the network rollout and the billing and charging system that the company is getting ready for the full commercial launch.
Lastly, RJIO’s 4G will be rolled out in 12 circles — Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, UP East and West, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.
