Samsung has finally brought the much awaited Samsung C9 Pro to India. The mobile was released back in October 2016 in China with a price tag of CNY 3199 (approx Rs. 32,000).

The company at an event in Orissa unveiled the device and shared that it will be available online as well as offline for Rs. 36,999 in India. Let’s explore and find out what C9 pro has to offer to buyers.

Design

For starters, it features a new design with “six string antenna lines”. Moreover, the body is made of metal and has a 2.5 D curved glass covering the display. Also, it sports the traditional Samsung home button with fingerprint sensor integrated into it.

Despite having a bigger screen (6.0 Inch) and a large battery, the phone still manages to have a low thickness of 6.9 mm, just like the iPhone 6s.

Notably, it weighs 180 grams that is ideal for a large display mobile.

Display

Next, it comes with a huge 6.0 inch Full HD (1920*1080) Super AMOLED display with 367 PPi. It may not be as sharp as the Quad HD Display on S7 edge, but it is a super AMOLED from Samsung, which means it is one of the best displays.

Performance

It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 Chipset along with Adreno 510 GPU. The processor is faster in comparison to the Snapdragon 652 or the commonly used Snapdragon 625. Additionally, the Snapdragon 653 is manufactured using the more energy efficient process to prolong the battery life.

Notably, its the first device from Samsung that comes with 6 GB of RAM. Even the flagship S7 and S7 edge have 4 GB of RAM.

It competes with the OnePlus 3T that even come with 6 GB of RAM.

For storage, it has 64 GB of internal memory expandable up to 256 GB using a memory card. Surprisingly, it has the dedicated SD card slot and you can use 2 sims plus micro-sd card at the same time.

Camera

For selfies, it boasts of a 16 Mega Pixel camera at the front with f/1.9 aperture. The rear camera also offers a 16MP, f/1.9 aperture lens which is ideal for clicking low light images.

Additionally, the camera has phase detection autofocus support and a Dual led flash. Notably, it is the first smartphone from Samsung to have a front 16 MP camera, to click clear and detailed selfies.

Battery

Further, it comes with a huge 4000 mAH battery, which is a significant bump to the 3300 mAh battery found in recently launched Samsung C7 Pro. Moreover, it supports Quick charging feature.

Other Top Features

The C9 Pro ships with Android Marshmallow 6.0 with TouchWiz skin on top. Soon it will get an upgrade to Android N.

Besides, it has USB Type C port along with the NFC support for Samsung Pay. There is Bluetooth v 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, and the coveted 3.5 mm audio jack.

The C9 Pro would be up for grabs from the second half of Feb, although you can pre-order from Jan 27th. It’ll be available in Black and Gold color options.

However, the Rose gold color is not launched in India.

On pre-order, you get one-time screen replacement from Samsung free, valid for a year from the date of purchase.

Overall it’s a great device and will compete with the OnePlus 3T. In conclusion, it looks impressive, with great specs and design. Hopefully, would make up for some damage done by the Samsung Note 7.
