Samsung Galaxy A8(2016) Launched: An Improved Galaxy S6
Samsung, after the failure of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, is trying to make up for it, by launching another high-end smartphone (Galaxy A8 2016) soon in the Indian market. Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy A8 in South Korea, an excellent large display phone, in October 2016.
Also, it was spotted on Zauba (an import/export portal) hinting at India launch in November 2016.
Moreover, Samsung has launched other phones like the C9 Pro (comes with 6 GB RAM) in China, but in the Indian market, they have not introduced any high-end mobile since Samsung S7 and S7 edge launch.
Nevertheless, as per the news from the rumor mill, Samsung is mulling to launch the new phones soon. Also, we can expect a price tag of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000 for the Samsung A8 2016.
Samsung A8 (2016) Features and Specs
Samsung has launched a new smartphone Samsung Galaxy A8(2016) in Korea and some other Asian countries.
For starters, the Samsung Galaxy A8(2016) comes with a gorgeous metallic uni-body design, and the build looks quite immaculate and very similar to the earlier released Samsung C5 and C7.
Furthermore, it is sleek and measures just 7.2 mm in thickness. Although it comes with a large 5.7-inch screen size similar to the ill-fated Samsung Note 7.
Notably, the design is inspired by iPhone 6s from the back side with similar metallic contours and antenna lines. On the contrary, the front side is signature Samsung look, with the oblong-shaped home button that comes with a fingerprint scanner.
Besides, the Samsung Galaxy A8 will first go on sale through SK Telecom (SunKyoung telecom). The SK Telecom is South Korean wireless telecommunications operator and is considered most significant business group in South Korea.
It is worth knowing; the Samsung A8 is identical to the Samsung S6 in many ways. To begin with, it shares the same processor – Samsung Exynos 7420.
Samsung A8 utilizes the cutting edge 14nm Exynos 7420 Octa-Core processor, manufactured by Samsung. Further, it has 4 powerful Cortex-A57 cores with the highest clock speed of 2.1 GHz and even has four lower clocked Cortex-A53 cores. The processor is accompanied by Mali T-760 MP8 GPU to ensure smooth gaming performance.
A8 2016 is Powered By Exynos 7420 – Made By Samsung
Although the Exynos 7420 is a generation old, it offers better performance compared to the Snapdragon 810 or Snapdragon 650 processors.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy A8(2016) comes with 3 GB of ram to ensure fluid performance.
Also, the mobile runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box along with the Grace UX that debuted in Samsung Note 7.
For incredible user experience, the A8 has a gargantuan 5.7 inch Full HD (1920*1080 ~ 386 PPI) Super AMOLED display.
The 74.5 % screen to body ratio ensures the bezels are thin, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection helps sustain occasional drops.
Even, there is 2.5D curved glass on top of the A8 screen that improves the touch experience and aesthetics.
To store movies and music it has got a 32 GB internal memory that is expandable up to 256 GB using a micro-sd card.
Also to make sure you can use this stunner all day, it is powered by a 3300 mAh Non-removable battery.
A major improvement over the Samsung S6 egregious 2650 mAH battery.
Notably, the battery can easily last full day with normal usage. However, it is a bit smaller compared to the Samsung Note 7 battery (and undoubtedly non-explosive too).
For the color choices, it currently adorns Blue, Grey, Pink (the classic black and white seem to be absent).
Lastly, for shutterbugs, the A8 has a 16 MP primary camera (similar to the Samsung S6) with f/1.9 aperture and a dual led flash. It can even record 1080p videos.
Disappointingly, Samsung has not bothered to add support for 4K videos.
Anyways, the phone has an 8 MP secondary camera that supports wide-angle selfies.
The phone is bulky, likewise most 5.7 inch smartphones, and weighs around 170 grams.
