Samsung Galaxy Note 4 VS Google Nexus 6 – Which is a Better Choice
They are the best smartphones you can buy if you are an Android loyalist and don’t want to be charmed by the slim iPhone 6. The Battle Royale between Nexus 6 and Samsung Note 4 is not easy to decide.
We will carefully read the broader specs and analyze the minute details in the article to pick a winner.
Design – The Note 4 design is inspired by the previous generation Note 3 but is much better with a thin metallic frame, and the rear cover is faux leather. The Note 3 had a stitched leather design which Note 4 has dumped for a more cleaner look.
Nexus 6, however, is more like an elder cousin of Motorola X 2nd generation. The design and contours have a striking resemblance to Moto X the screen size for Nexus 6 is 6 inches while Moto X has a 5.2-inch screen. The Galaxy Note 4 looks stunning, and Samsung has not increased the screen size from 5.7 inches. Width wise also Nexus 6 is slightly broader in comparison to the Samsung Note 4 by 4.5 mm.
Samsung Note 4 has a Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with 2560 x 1440 pixels( −515 PPI) while Google Nexus 6 has an AMOLED display with 5.96-inch screen size, 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution(493PPI). The screen and resolution are excellent on both smartphones, and a slight difference in PPI doesn’t make a difference to display.
Both the smartphones are by no means thinner Note 4 has 8.5 mm thickness while the Nexus 6 has 10.1 mm thickness. Besides, Apple is trying to make smartphones thinner than 7.1 mm (iPhone 6 Plus). We will not talk of Gionee S 5.1 here which has a thickness of 5.15 mm. The smartphones are also quite heavy with Note 4 weighing 176 grams, and Nexus 6 weighs around 184 grams.
The Samsung Note 4 also features the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which is also present on Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and it gives much more breakage resistance to the Note 4.

While the Samsung Note 4 Runs on the previous version of Android the KitKat. On top of KitKat is the Samsung Touch wiz UI which is liked by some of the users and hated by others. It is more of a personal choice but the Samsung TouchWiz UI is now old and if you have used a Samsung S5 or Note 3 or Note 2 you may like to experiment and want a pure Android Experience. The S-Pen with the Samsung Note 4 makes it a delight for multitasking and taking notes and drawing sketches and photo editing if you get the hang of the device.
