Samsung has announced yet another smartphone for the Indian market. Dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy On Max, the device caters to the Samsung’s fast growing mid-range segment with a price tag of Rs. 16,900. The smartphone is available for purchase from Flipkart.
Samsung is touting the camera of the smartphone as one of the best in the low-light scenarios by saying it as the best-in-class camera tailor-made for low-light photography, enabled by its flagship f/1.7 aperture.
Samsung with the new Galaxy On Max is taking on the Motorola Moto G5 Plus which also comes with a decent rear camera and is priced similarly in the market.
The Galaxy On Max comes with a 5.7-inch Full HD TFT display carrying a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display is covered by 2.5D curved glass, but Samsung did not mention any protection on the display as usual.
The smartphone comes powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 Lite chipset, which is an octa-core chip comprised of four 2.39 GHz cores and four 1.69 GHz cores. The chipset works in tandem with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with support for storage expansion via microSD card up to 128GB.
The device has ARM’s Mali T880 GPU to handle the graphic intensive tasks in the device and can handle games such as Asphalt Xtreme, Nova 5, Mortal Combat 5, etc. with ease.
The phone also features the revolutionary Samsung Pay Mini, a ‘Simple, Secure and Almost Everywhere’ payment system. Samsung announced the Samsung Pay Mini feature back at the launch of Samsung Galaxy J7 Max.
The Galaxy On Max also sports the industry-first Social Camera Mode for people who like to ‘share on-the-go’. The Instant Share & Edit feature enables instant sharing of pictures with a single click on pinned social media applications. Live filters and cool Indian-themed stickers enhance the overall experience of clicking and sharing images.
In terms of optics, Samsung has added 13 MP sensors at both front and back. The rear camera comes with an aperture of f/1.7, while the front-facing camera has a f/1.9 aperture for adding more light to the images.
The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based TouchWiz UI and is backed with a 3300mAh battery. The phone also has a fingerprint scanner integrated into its home button, along with connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4+5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The device will be available exclusively via Flipkart.
