Update -21/December/2016 – Samsung J Series offers budget-friendly mobiles with innovative features like S Bike mode, Power, and Data saving. These features in the previous J series phones are praised by users.
Moreover, features that are relevant for users is what Samsung is banking on to differentiate, in the market where high specs & low price is the success Mantra.
Samsung J3 2017 (Samsung J3 Emerge)
Recently Samsung J3 2017 leaks were shared by the tipster Evan Blass. He posted pictures of the new Samsung J3 (2017) codenamed as “SM-G5520”. Although there is a recent listing on the geek-benchmark that suggest the model number as SM-J327. The new Samsung J3 2017 or J3 Emerge is expected to go on sale in the US first. Also, likely to launch on 6th January 2016 as per the recent leaks.
The render shows somewhat similar design cues, which Samsung has been following in the J series phones like the J3 2016 or the J3 Pro. The rear cover is entirely different, a rectangular strip which runs along the camera distinguishes the design from the previous iterations. The unique back cover looks cool on the new Samsung Emerge.
Further, it comes with the same oblong shaped home button, flanked between the back and recent app keys.
The J3 sports an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor clocked at 1.4Ghz (most likely the Snapdragon 430 chipset), along with 2 GB of ram. There is Adreno 505 GPU, offers decent gaming performance.
Samsung J3 PRO
Furthermore, it comes with 16 GB of internal storage and will have upto 128 GB micro sd card slot. The dual sim mobile has 4G LTE, as well as VOLTE support and, also offers native connectivity choices.
It is likely to come with the 5-inch display like it’s predecessors and HD (1280*720) pixels resolution.
Running on Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the touch Wiz UI, it offers a good user experience. It is unlikely to have Android Nougat 7.0 which is yet to release on Samsung Flagship phones – S7 and S7 edge.
An Indian import-export website, Zauba also confirmed the existence of the smartphone and hints at import of few units for testing. The cost for the import unit is mentioned at Rs. 6800, though the actual price can be close to Rs. 10,000 or more after taxes and duties.
Judging by the previous pricing of the J series, this phone will compete with the value for money smartphones such as Redmi 3S Prime, Lenovo K6 Power, Meizu M3s in the sub 10k segment.
