Samsung J3 2017 (Samsung J3 Emerge)
Recently Samsung J3 2017 leaks were shared by the tipster Evan Blass. He posted picture of the new Samsung J3 (2017) code named as “SM-G5520”. Though there is a recent listing on the geek-benchmark which suggest the model number as SM-J327. The new Samsung J3 2017 or J3 Emerge is expected to go on sale in US first and the smartphone is alleged to launch on 6th January 2016 as per the recent leaks.
The render shows somewhat similar design cues, which Samsung has been following in the J series smartphones like the J3 2016 and the J3 Pro from the front side. The rear cover is entirely different and Samsung has brought a new design element – a rectangular strip which runs along the camera. The unique back cover looks cool on the new Samsung Emerge. It gives bit of Google Pixel look but not entirely similar.
The Samsung J3 2017 comes with the same oblong shaped home button, flanked between the back and recent apps keys.
The J3 is touted to sport an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor clocked at 1.4Ghz (most likely the Snapdragon 430 chipset), along with 2 GB of ram. There is Adreno 505 GPU, which has decent gaming performance.
The Samsung J3 2017 will come with 16 GB of internal storage and will have upto 128 GB micro sd card slot. The dual sim smartphone will have 4G LTE as well as VOLTE support and will also offer native connectivity choices.
The smartphone is likely to come with the 5 inch display like it’s predecessors and will have HD (1280*720) pixels resolution.
The smartphone will run on Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the touch Wiz UI. It is unlikely to have Android Nougat 7.0 which is yet to release on Samsung Flagship phones – S7 and S7 edge.
An Indian import-export website, Zauba also confirmed the existence of the smartphone and hints at import of few units for testing. The cost for the import unit is mentioned at Rs. 6800, though the actual price can be close to Rs. 10,000 or more after taxes and duties.
Judging by the previous pricing of the J series, this phone will compete with the value for money smartphones such as Redmi 3S Prime, Lenovo K6 Power, Meizu M3s in the sub 10k segment.
