Samsung J3 PRO Launched in India
Yet another phone launched by Samsung, but this time in the budget segment. And there is also something ridiculous about it. You will find that soon.
Samsung announced the Galaxy J3 Pro in India, a couple of days back and now the smartphone is listed on Paytm available for Rs. 8490.
The Samsung J3 Pro 4G is a mid-life upgrade to last year’s Samsung Galaxy J3.
To recall, the Galaxy J3 Pro was first announced in China in June 2016, and it took almost nine months for the company to bring it to India.
For selling the Galaxy J3 Pro, the South Korean giant has partnered with digital wallet and e-commerce giant, Paytm. Well, it is exclusive to Paytm, and you can’t buy it anywhere else officially. This is what Samsung said when the smartphone got launched in India last month. Now it is also available on Flipkart.
Key Specs and Features Samsung J3 PRO
For starters, the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display. Samsung India claims that the phone is ‘Made for India.’
We wonder how this counts as a phone made for India because Samsung has been selling it in China for the last eight months.
Anyways, the J3 Pro comes with features such as ‘Ultra Data Saving Mode’ for saving mobile data on your phone by limiting the background usage. Furthermore, it has support for 4G LTE, VoLTE, and comes with S-Bike mode, which is exclusive to the Indian market.
As usual with Samsung’s budget phones, the J3 Pro also misses out on most of the sensors. It is powered by a Quad-Core 1.5 GHz SoC, clubbed with just 2 GB of RAM. My Goodness, Samsung is offering full 2 GB ram instead of 1.5 GB as done previously.
Besides, the phone also comes with 16 GB of internal storage with support for microSD card slot for storage expansion.
For photography, Samsung has added an 8 MP rear camera, coupled with an LED flash. Also, it has a 5 MP front-facing camera to click selfies.
Egregiously, it comes with a 3 years old OS.
In the era of Android Nougat, the J3 Pro runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. I told you up front; there is something ridiculous about the Samsung J3 Pro ………. Android Lollipop 5.1.
Dear Samsung, Marshmallow was okay, but don’t launch something in future with KitKat. I have doubts now…..
Furthermore, A 2600 mAh battery backs the Galaxy J3 Pro, and the phone comes with dual SIM support.
Also, connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and NFC for S-Bike mode. The Samsung J3 Pro comes in 3 color options Gold and White color.
If you don’t really care about the OS (who does not) and are happy with the brand name it could be a good choice for you. Otherwise, there are plenty of good phones in the sub 9-10K price range.
Lastly, the phone will also be available to buy on Flipkart for Rs. 7999 soon, so don’t buy from Paytm.
