Samsung Grand Prime – Mid Range Phone makes a Debut
Expanding its portfolio South Korean phone makers Samsung on Monday has launched it’s new mid-range phone “Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime” 4G in India.
As per the latest survey, Samsung is losing the market share because of the tough competition from the rival phone companies.
To gain some market share Samsung has put an aggressive price tag of Rs 11,100 for the new 4G LTE Grand prime. At this price, the smartphone competes with the Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen.
Samsung smartphone market share has come down from 28% to about 21.5%. The Indian and Chinese brands have eaten into Samsung’s market share.
In a bid to be a market leader in the Indian market that registered a sequential growth of about 30%, and taking the fight to the next level, Samsung has unveiled new models Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 earlier.
But Samsung still lacks the pricing aggression which is necessary to dominate the Indian market which has made Xiaomi a much larger player.
The presence of Samsung in Sub 10k segment is poor and none of Samsung devices are top selling in that price range. However, now Samsung is eyeing the 10K to 30K market, along with the fight at Flagship level. Samsung also launched the thin profile, gorgeous looking Samsung Galaxy A8 yesterday.
