To gain some market share Samsung has put a aggressive price tag of Rs 11,100 for the new 4G LTE Grand prime. At this price, the smartphone competes with the Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen.

Samsung smartphone market share has come down from 28% to about 21.5% which is largely chucked by Indian local brands and the Chinese manufacturers. In a bid to be a market leader in the  Indian scenario where smartphone sales have registered a sequential growth of about 30% and taking the fight to the next level, Samsung has unveiled new models with Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 earlier.

But Samsung still lack the pricing aggression which is necessary to dominate the Indian market which has made Xiaomi a much larger player. The presence of Samsung in Sub 10k segment is poor and none of Samsung devices are top selling in that price range. However now Samsung is eyeing the 10K to 30K market , along with the fight at Flagship level. Samsung also launched the thin profile, gorgeous looking Samsung Galaxy A8 yesterday.

Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is powered by Quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz (most likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 – not confirmed). Processor is  supported by 1 GB RAM with 8 GB of internal memory. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollopop along with the Samsung touch wiz UI.
