Samsung staffers are having a very busy week with multiple product launches in India. Today Samsung has launched the refreshed version of the last year’s Samsung On5 and On7 smartphones. The new smartphones are named as Samsung On5 Pro and Samsung On7 Pro.
The smartphones will be available only on Amazon India exclusively at a price of Rs. 9190 for Samsung On 5 Pro and Rs. 11190 for the Samsung On 7 Pro.
Samsung also launched the Samsung J2 2016 smartphone last Friday priced at Rs. 9750 and a large 7 inch phablet named as Samsung J Max priced at Rs. 13499.Both Samsung On5 Pro and the On7 pro comes with front poly-plastic build, and will be available in black and gold colors. The edge around the HD display has a chrome metallic finish and backside of the smartphone has a premium faux leather finish.
The faux leather finish makes the smartphones less prone to slips and falls. Both the smartphones have dual sim 4G LTE data support and come with ultra data saving mode to ensure you have lesser data bill.
The Samsung On5 Pro and On7 Pro also comes with S-Bike mode which Samsung introduced in the J3 smartphone to make your driving experience distraction free.
Samsung On5 Pro
The Samsung On5 Pro is the cheaper and smaller sized of the two devices and comes with 5.0 inch HD display with TFT panel. The Samsung On5 Pro is powered by an unknown Exyson Quad Core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.
The smartphone comes with 2 GB of ram and runs on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 update. The smartphone comes with a decent battery capacity of 2600 mAH which can easily last all day with Samsung optimizations.
Samsung On5 Pro comes with a 8 mega pixel rear camera with auto-focus and led flash. The front camera has 120 degree wide angle and a 5 Megapixels lens to capture group selfies with ease.
Samsung On7 Pro
The Samsung On5 Pro is the more expensive large display smartphone and comes with 5.5 inch HD (1280*720) display with TFT panel.
The Samsung On7 Pro is powered by an unknown Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It could be Snapdragon 410 or 415 chipset. Like its smaller sibling the On7 Pro comes with 2 GB of ram and runs on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 update along with the touch-wiz UI.
Samsung On7 Pro features a better rear camera with 13 mega pixel resolution with auto-focus and led flash. The front camera is same as the On5 Pro and comes with 120 degree wide angle and a 5 Megapixels lens to take clear selfies.
The smartphone offers decent 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 128 GB using a memory card. The battery capacity of Samsung On7 Pro is fantastic with 3000 mAH capacity and can easily last all day.
Samsung is clearly focusing on mid range smartphones in the market with On5 Pro and On7 Pro exclusive online launch and J2 2016 to fill the gaps in the retail market. The Rs 8000 to 10000 price range is one of the top selling category in smartphones.
Clearly Samsung is not going on a Specs war with Chinese counterparts like Lenovo , Xiaomi and Meizu but trying to woo customers with superior brand promise and quality.
Samsung On5 Pro is a better Option compared to Samsung J2 2016
Samsung has also announced launch offers with both the smartphones and you can get Rs. 6000 off on Thomas cook international package. Probably not a well thought offer considering overlap in International holidaymakers and budget buyers would have suited high end buyers.
The second more apt launch offer is you get 2 GB data and 200 local/National minutes with new Idea Sim with recharge of Rs. 343.
The Samsung On5 Pro looks like a better offer compared to the Samsung J2 2016 with more storage , better design and additional 0.5 GB Ram.
