As expected Samsung has launched the new mid-range smartphone Samsung On8 priced at Rs. 15900.
The smartphone will go on sale as the Big Billion Days Sale kicks off on 2nd of October on Flipkart. Though the new Samsung Smartphone will be available for purchase at mid-night 12 pm in 3 color variants – black, white and gold.
The Samsung On8 is the cheapest Full HD display smartphone ever launched by Samsung in India. The On8 boasts of a 5.5 Inch Super Amoled display with great color contrast and viewing angles.
Design – The Samsung On8 also flaunts a full metal body build with immaculate finish and build quality. Samsung says it has diamond cut precision and users will find the device to be premium.
Performance – The Samsung On8 comes with an unspecified Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.6 Ghz and also has the essential 3 GB of RAM. The Dual Sim smartphone will come with 4G LTE as well as VOLTE support to work with Airtel , Idea , Vodafone and Reliance JIO 4G network.
OS and Features – The smartphone runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 and has Samsung Touch-wiz UI. The Samsung On8 comes with some nifty features like the S-Bike mode which helps you send automatic responses to incoming while driving a bike.
Battery – The smartphone also has got ultra power saving feature to ensure you can prolong the battery life. The Samsung On8 does have a decent battery life and ships with a rather large 3300 mAH battery capacity which will easily be able to last all day with medium to heavy usage.
Storage – The smartphone comes with 16 GB of internal storage and it can be expanded to 128 GB using the micro-sd card. It is yet not clear if it come with a hybrid sim slot which is most likely.
Camera – The smartphone has a 13 mega pixel rear camera which come with f/1.9 aperture lens and auto-focus and led support.
The front camera on the smartphone is 5 Megapixel shooter and Samsung has done a positive addition for selfie lowers by adding a dedicated front flash to the Samsung On8.
The smartphone has 7.8 mm thickness which is great considering the screen size device will definitely look sleek. The weight though is 169 grams which is a bit bulky but we give it a pass considering Samsung added a decent battery to the On8.
What does the Samsung On8 misses – It is missing the Fingerprint scanner which is the most common feature most smartphones have in this price range. Otherwise it seems to be a good offering from Samsung and biggest Pro is the Super AMOLED 5.5 inch display.
Samsung recently launched the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime in the Indian market priced at Rs. 18490 with similar specs when compared to the Samsung On8.
