A Redmi Note 6 Pro Catches Fire in the Hand of Retailer from Gujarat
A Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has exploded at a retail shop the video shows.
The phone was brought to a local retail store by the customer in Gujarat. When the retailer was trying to open the device, smoke started to come from it and it caught fire and explodes.

A Xiaomi spokesperson has issued a statement regarding the blast: “As a follow up to the Gujarat Redmi Note 6 Pro case, our teams immediately reached out to the customer and he has informed us that the device was already physically damaged when it was brought to the unauthorised local repair store. On investigation, it was determined that the further physical tampering of the device by the local shop owner led to additional damage. We have resolved the issue with the customer and the case has been closed. We urge and request our customers to reach out to authorised service centres for concerns on their devices where qualified personnel are available to address their issues.”

Another Xiaomi Phone On Fire – Redmi Note 4 Catches Fire and Explodes
Reported on 19th/August/2017 – Recently, There was an incident of a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 catching fire in the hands of a retailer couple of days back.
An online Telegu news Channel “Sakshi TV”, reported a similar incident yesterday. Sharing that the user has bought the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, some days back. The phone suddenly caught fire as he was carrying the device in his pocket.
For details, Bhavana Suryakiran from Ravulapalem in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district bought the ill-fated Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 from Flipkart 20 days back.
It caught fire as he was riding a bike. And he says that he has got injuries due to the burns.
Moreover, the fire could not be put out despite pouring water on his pants so he has to throw the mobile to the ground to save himself.
Additionally, he has even got some burns as shown in the Video. Below are the video and the images of the owner and the alleged Xiaomi phone.
Yet, it is not clear what is the cause of the incident and if the incident is real or a fake. Probably the user will connect with Xiaomi and try to sort out the matter and more information will be available soon about the incident.
Concerned fellows are showing the burns by pulling the track pants down for the Redmi Note 4 owner.
The below video by Sakshi News, posted on 13th August 2017, so far has 3060 views. It is difficult to ascertain the veracity of the video although the burning phone looks like a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Notably, Xiaomi reacted strongly at the last such incident and put the blame on the user for the burning Redmi Note 4. The brand claims that a third party charger caused the incident. Also, before the incident, the device was damaged.
Xiaomi has also admitted this incident and has said they are investigating the matter and will inform about the probable causes of the fire. Noticeably, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the highest selling phone in India. Recently, Xiaomi shared that they have sold around 5 million Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 devices in India.
Xiaomi’s Answer to the Incident
Xiaomi said in a statement, due to huge external pressure the device exploded and consequently, burnt the user.
Here is the official statement by Xiaomi “Upon first impressions of the damaged device, we can conclude that extreme external force was applied to the device. This led to the back cover and battery being bent and screen getting damaged. A detailed investigation has been launched to understand the exact cause of the damage,” the smartphone maker said.
Notably, the owner Bhavana Suryakiran was riding a bike at the time of the incident and the phone started to burn in his pocket according to the owner.
Moreover, there are a huge number of people using Redmi Note 4 in the country. These incidents happen in rare exceptional circumstances. There are 5 million people who are using the Redmi Note 4 device and it is a safe phone.
To recall, the Samsung Note 7 story was different. The faulty battery caused the Note 7 to burn.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Catches Fire – Xiaomi Shares Full Explanation Report
In an unfortunate accident, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone allegedly caught fire and exploded without any warning signs in the hands of a retailer. The retailer was opening the device to add a Sim card.
Tech case India (a blog) reported the incident initially. Notably, the device belongs to Mr. Arjun from Karnataka, Bangalore. Mr. Arjun went to a nearby local shop and asked the retailer to add a sim card to the phone, and as soon as he tried to open it exploded into flames.
The customer has later received a replacement smartphone from the Brand. Furthermore, Xiaomi in a statement shared with the NDTV – Gadgets said that they truly care about the protection of the users and will be investigating what caused the device to explode.

Usually, smartphones explode due to battery overheating as was the case with the Samsung Note 7 causing billion dollars loses and endangering the safety of users. In this case, the device was not in use or charging but suddenly exploded.
There can be several reasons for this and Xiaomi may like to understand what actually caused the device to explode suddenly. As for the customer, he has already got a replacement unit and has no complaints with the company.
