Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 3S the new upgraded variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 smartphone which they launched in January 2016 in China, though the smartphone is yet not launched in India. The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes with improved specs and also has a fingerprint scanner which was not present on the Xiaomi Redmi 3.
Xiaomi currently has the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 as the top selling smartphone in India and has sold close to 1 million devices since it’s launch in the Indian market.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes in two variants – 16 GB of storage and 2 GB RAM priced at CNY 699 or Rs. 7499 and the 32 GB of storage and 3 GB RAM priced at CNY 999 or Rs. 9499. Both the smartphones will go on sale on 16th June 2016 and will be available for purchase in China through mi.com.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S looks quite similar to the Xiaomi Redmi 3 in terms of design and build but the major change is the fingerprint scanner at the back of the device. The smartphone comes with 5 inch display with HD (1280*720) pixels resolution.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S is powered by the all new Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and comes with Adreno 505 GPU. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 is clocked at 1.1 GHz and is an 8 Core processor.
The smartphone has a 13 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 MP front camera for clicking selfies. The rear camera is capable of recording 1080P videos and has f/2.0 aperture and comes with PDAF.
The smartphone has 4G LTE connectivity along with native support for 3G /2G and WIFI. The smartphone runs on the MIUI 7.0 along with the Android Lollipop 5.1.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes with incredible battery back and has a very large 4100 mAH capacity battery which can work all day without need for charging.
The smartphone also is quite thin considering the battery and 5.0 inch screen size, it measures 8.4mm in thickness and weighs 144 grams.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be available in Gold , Grey and Silver colors.
