Sony has been struggling with keeping the financial books in green in recent times. The company launched their wide-range of Xperia X series of smartphones at MWC 2016.
They already launched the Sony Xperia X and Xperia XA in India and the latest entrant to the Indian market is the Xperia XA Ultra and the USP for this smartphone will be the front facing 16-megapixel camera which even has support for Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). You want a camera smartphone to take great shots, get the Sony XA Ultra.
The other two devices of the Xperia X Series launched back in May, however, at that point of time, the Xperia XA Ultra launch was imminent. Sony, on Tuesday unveiled the Xperia XA Ultra for Rs. 29,990 and will be available from all the Sony Centres over the country and also through e-commerce portals starting Wednesday.
Talking about the specifications, the smartphone comes with a mammoth 6-inch display which is a full HD panel with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 367 PPI. The display, as usual comes enhanced with Sony’s additions such as Bravia Engine, XReality. Sony also claims that the Bravia Engine 2 powers up the XA Ultra’s display.
There is a MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755c chipset, under the hood along with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. That said, the storage can be further expanded via a micro-SD card slot. The processor is good but not great for the price range the smartphone belongs. The Helio P10 is present in smartphones like Yu Yunicorn , Gionee M6 and M6 Plus or the Lenvo K5 Note.
The USP of the Sony Xperia XA Ultra is it’s camera. There is a 21.5-megapixel rear camera with the company’s own Exmor RS Sensor. Up front, is a 16-megapixel front facing camera with support for OIS, HDR mode, and also a flash for low-light conditions.
