The first smartphone to come in India with 6 GB Ram is the LE Max 2 which was launched at an event organized by LeEco yesterday in New Delhi. Though we have been writing about many 6 GB RAM smartphones which have got launched in China particularly but so far non has ventured into the Indian territory so far.
Le Max 2 will go on sale on the 28th June on Flipkart and the registration to purchase the smartphone will begin on 20 June 2016. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6 GB version and it comes with 64 GB of storage space.
LeECo has also launched the 32 GB storage and 4 GB ram variant which is priced at Rs. 22,990. Both the smartphones will go on sale on 28th June 2016. We are also awaiting for the OnePlus 3 which is going to get unveiled on 14 June and will also feature 6 GB RAM.
LeEco also launched the LE 2 smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor priced at Rs. 11,999 in India at the event.
LE MAX 2
The Le Max 2 was launched in China in mid April 2016 and is going to launch in India by June end. There has been lot of focus by LeEco on the Indian market and they are committed to get the latest offerings to India faster.
The Le Max 2 comes with a Quad HD Display ( 2560 x 1440 pixels) with 5.7 inch screen size (450 nits brightness) and thin metallic bezel, it comes with 515 PPi.Also you can observe there is a black display bezel in the screen itself, though LeEco calls it a bezel less display, in reality it is not totally bezel free( it is not and edge to edge display).
The smartphone weighs 180 grams and has a thickness of 8 mm. The LE MAX 2 will be available in 3 color variants – Rose Gold, Silver, Grey.
The smartphone comes in 4 GB RAM / 6 GB RAM (LP DDR4) variant with 32 GB and 64 GB of storage space. The Le Max 2 is powered by the current Qualcomm Flagship processor Snapdragon 820 which is 2X faster compared to the Snapdragon 810 used in the Le Max or OnePlus 2.
The Adreno 530 GPU is excellent for gaming and offers 40% better graphics performance when compared to the Adreno 430.
The Le Max 2 runs on the latest Android Marshmallow OS along with the eUI 5.8 custom skin from LeEco.
The Highlight for the Le Max 2 beyond the 6 GB of Ram is the use of CDLA (continual digital lossless audio) standard which uses the USP type C port along with special pair of headphone to listen to music. The LeEco has moved into the future faster , much faster than every one else and have completely ditched the standard 3.5 mm jack.
You can also buy the Type C port compatible earphones priced at Rs. 1,990 which are also sold by LeEco, they will also get listed on Flipkart along with the smartphone.
There is an obvious benefit of the new CDLA headphones as they provide superior audio output but on the other hand you can’t use charger and headphones simultaneously , which I think is the bigger disadvantage.
The smartphone comes with 21 mega pixel rear camera which has Sony IMX230 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera supports 4K video recording as well as slow motion. The camera features optical image stabilization as well as phase detection auto-focus system to take great photographs and video.
The front camera is also beefy and comes with 8 Mega pixel sensor to take clear, natural looking selfies. The front camera sensor has 1.4 micron pixel size to absorb more natural light and offer brighter even toned images.
The smartphone has a Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor located at the back of the device to offer fast unlocking experience and you can even click a selfie using the fingerprint scanner.
The Le Max 2 has Dual sim support and comes with 4G LTE connectivity, LeEco has also said that they will roll out an OTA update to enable the support for VOLTE.
The phone has a 3100 mAH capacity battery which is not huge but it comes with Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging feature and you can charge the smartphone from 0 to 100% in less than 2 hours.
The smartphone has – Proximity sensor , Gravity sensor , Light sensor , Infra-red remote control , Hall sensor , Gyroscope and Electronic compass.
The LE Max 2 has lot of positive non-gimmicky features and brings the best of hardware money can buy, along with the CDLA USB Type C headphones (which no one else is selling). Will it appeal to the flaghship buyers who are content with the Samsung S7 or LG G5 only time will tell.
