Asus has launched the new Zenfone AR in India today, and the smartphone comes with some unique features which are bound to impress the tech enthusiasts and Asus Fans.
The Asus Zenfone AR was first showcased at the CES 2017 in January, and at that point of time, it was the first smartphone to run with 8 GB of Ram. The smartphone is launched in India for a price tag of Rs. 49,990 and is available now.

1). Support for Google Daydream (Virtual Reality) – With virtual reality gaining momentum in 2017, the Asus Zenfone AR has a major focus towards the virtual reality and is compatible with the Google Daydream virtual reality headset similar to the Google Pixel smartphones.

The Zernfone AR boasts of a tri-camera system which has one motion tracking camera, second depth sensing camera and the third 23 Megapixel Sony IMX 318 main camera. The camera comes with f/2.0 aperture and has sapphire glass protection along with fast auto-focus speed that Asus claims to be 0.3 seconds. The rear camera is also capable of recording 4K videos and comes with four axis Optical image stabilisation and 3 Axis EIS.
The front camera is an 8 Mega-pixel f/2.0 aperture lens selfie camera which comes with support for beautification mode and HDR pro mode.
4). Impressive Audio for Audiophiles – The Asus Zenfone AR comes with an audio engine which will excite the audiophiles. The smartphone has got a five-magnet speaker driven by a powerful NXP smart amplifier to ensure there is great experince for VR and listening to music. The Zenfone AR can output 24 Bit High-Resolution Audio, and it comes with a pair of Asus ZenEar S headphones inside the box which can offer virtual 7.1 channel sound output.
5). Performance – The smartphone comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and with the Adreno 506 GPU. There is also whhooping 8 GB of Ram on the Asus Zenfone AR which offers super smooth user experience along with the Android Nougat 7.1 and Zen UI 3.0.

The Asus Zenfone AR has 4G LTE as well as VOLTE support as well. There is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button with 360-degree recognition technology.
The smartphone is powered by a 3300 mAH capacity battery which also comes with the Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 support and can charge the smartphone upto 60% in 45 minutes.
The Asus Zenfone AR may appeal to Asus fans and buyers looking for AR and VR capabilities in a smartphone. Overall it is a bit different niche focused smartphone compared to the most other mobiles in the premium segment. Apart from the AR and VR experience, the camera and general performance will decide it’s success in the Indian market.
