Xiaomi recently said that it sold over four million units of Redmi 3s since the launch in August 2016. Xiaomi has discontinued the Redmi 3s in India after the launch of Redmi 4.
However, the Redmi 4 and Redmi 3s have a lot of similar features, but the Redmi 4 is a worthy upgrade to the Redmi 3s, nevertheless. Also, the Redmi 4 packs incredible features for a budget smartphone. Here are the top seven features of the newly announced Redmi 4.
1) Better Design
The significant change in the Redmi 4 when compared to Redmi 3s is the design. It comes with the metallic uni-body construction, but the design language is a lot more refined now, and the phone itself looks like a smaller version of the Redmi Note 4, especially in the black colour.
2) Display Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 flaunts a 5-inch HD display, same as the Redmi 3s, but the brightness levels have been increased to deliver better sunlight legibility. This time around Xiaomi has added the Corning Gorilla Glass protection to the display of the phone, and it also has 2.5D curved glass on top. Nonetheless, Xiaomi did not mention the Gorilla Glass generation though.
3) Snapdragon 435 Processor
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is one among the rare smartphones in India to ship with Snapdragon 435; the first smartphone is the Oppo A57 launched recently. The Snapdragon 435 is an octa-core chip with eight Cortex A53 cores running at 1.4GHz. The GPU is Adreno 505, which also brings in various performance improvements.
