Lenovo, as promised, has launched the Lenovo Zuk Edge which comes with an exceptional screen to body ratio of 86.4%.
With many leaks about Lenovo coming up with a bezel-less phone, this is one of the most anticipated launches of 2016. Lenovo Zuk Edge rivals the Xiaomi Mi Mix which is a true bezel-less smartphone with 91.2 % screen to body ratio.
Lenovo has not gone as extreme as has Xiaomi, but has kept the design more practical, with front camera still at the top side and a superfast fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button at the bottom of the display.
The Lenovo Zuk Edge Comes in 3 variants:
- Lenovo Zuk Edge with 4 GB RAM – Price 2299 Yuan or Rs 23,500
- Lenovo Zuk Edge with 6 GB RAM – Price 2499 Yuan or Rs. 25,500
- Lenovo Zuk Edge L Edition (Actor Lee Min Ho) – Not Known
The Lenovo Zuk Edge comes with 5.5 inches display with Full HD resolution and there is 2.5D curve glass. The smartphone display looks stunning with a minimalist look.
Equipped with the fastest processor in the market Zuk Edge offers an incredible performance of a flagship device rivaling OnePlus 3T and the Mi Mix. There is Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Processor clocked at 2.35 GHz and 4GB / 6 GB of Ram to ensure fluid performance. The smartphone comes with 64 GB of internal storage.
The Zuk Edge runs on the Android Nougat 7.0 (the latest OS from Google) along with the ZUK UI.
The rear camera comes with a 13 Mega Pixel lens with f/2.2 aperture and has phase detection autofocus support along with a front camera which has 8 MP resolution.
The rear camera has 1.34μm pixel size to ensure better low light photography. The rear camera uses a new cutting-edge technology with PDAF + CAF double focus mode to achieve autofocus in less than 0.1 seconds.
U Touch Fingerprint Scanner
Zuk Edge claims that the U touch fingerprint scanner is almost hidden and it makes the design more seamless and also protects from dust, water damage to the fingerprint reader over time. The Fingerprint scanner is claimed to be super fast with the ability to unlock the smartphone in unbelievable 0.9 seconds. We would be warming our stopwatches for a real-life test.
Sound and Battery
Lenovo has used a dedicated DAC (Dirac HD Sound) to enhance the sound output on the Zuk Edge and to make it more appealing to the Audiophiles.
There is a 3100 mAH Battery which can easily last all day and comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support for rapid charging.

Furthermore, The smartphone has 7.68 mm of thickness and weighs 160 grams which is all good considering the screen size. It offers 4G LTE as well as VOLTE connectivity along with the native connectivity options.
There is USB Type C Port for connectivity and Zuk Edge offers 64 GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage.
All this for a very affordable price. The smartphone is going to be available in China from January 1st on the new year, availability beyond the Great Wall is dubious.
