Let’s check out all the details (Specs, price and launch date) of the upcoming POCO phones – POCO F2 and the POCO X2.
After nearly a year-long silence, Xiaomi has announced that POCO will be a separate brand and the company will launch new mobiles in India.
The POCO F1 was launched in August 2018 with bells and whistles. However, something weird happened after that.
More than a year passed and the company has not released the second phone in the series.
There were doubts that Xiaomi will kill the Poco brand.
Also, earlier, there were rumors about the launch of POCO F1 Lite or POCO F2 but they never saw the light of the day.
Now since Xiaomi CEO, Mr. Manu Kumar Jain has said that POCO will continue to operate in India as a separate brand and there is a future for it. We are sure there will be more phone launches under the POCO banner in 2020.
The company has sent a media invite to Candytech, and the date of launch for the POCO X2 is 4th February.
Let’s look at the upcoming POCO X2 and the POCO F2.
The Poco X2 is launched in India and will go on sale starting 11th February 2020. The X2 comes in 3 variants:
- 6 GB Ram and 64 GB Storage – Price Rs. 15,999
- 6 GB Ram and 128 GB Storage – Price Rs. 16,999
- 8 GB Ram and 256 GB Storage – Price Rs. 19,999
Fans were waiting for the POCO phone for a long time and the new mid-ranger is an exciting device for the price.
The POCO X2 comes with a large 6.67 inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz panel.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor that the company is using in the Redmi K30. Also, there is Adreno 618 GPU which is capable of handling all modern games such as PUBG, COD Mobile and even Fortnite.
The Geekbench Scores for the POCO F2 were:
Single-Core Score – 547
Multi-Core Score – 1947
Also, the new POCO X2 runs with the custom POCO skin on top of the MIUI 11/Android 10.
The phone boasts of Quad-rear camera setup and comes with 64 MP Sony IMX 686 sensor as the primary lens. There is an 8 MP secondary camera, 2 MP (depth), 2 MP macro lens.
The phone is likely to have 4500 mAH capacity battery, and has a 27 Watts fast charger that can charge it in less than 68 minutes.
The POCO X2 doesn’t have 5G support in India. Nevertheless, there is no 5G network nor there will be any for at least 2 more years.
Xiaomi POCO F2 is the successor to the flagship POCO F1 released in August 2018. There have been several rumors and leaks about the POCO F2 but it was not launched by the brand in 2019.
Here are some of the expectations and rumors about the specs sheet of POCO F2. Poco F1 was the cheapest phone when it was launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
We can expect the POCO F2 to come with either the Snapdragon 855 Plus or the Snapdragon 865. In case the POCO F2 comes with the Snapdragon 865, we can expect the release date to be close to June 2019.
Samsung will launch the S20 series with the SD 865 and will be the first to use the SOC. Once the demand for the S series will subdue than other manufacturers like Oneplus and Xiaomi will be able to launch phones using the SOC.
In case, POCO decides to go with the Snapdragon 855 Plus they can launch it in March 2020.
Additionally, the phone will come with 8 GB / 12 GB ram options with 128 GB base storage.
Other specs for the phone will be inspired by the Redmi K30 5G which comes with a full view display with a punch-hole camera.
Also, being a flagship device the POCO F2 will feature a 6.6 inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz display panel.
POCO F2 will have a 4500 mAH capacity battery that will come with 30 Watts Fast Charging to make sure you don’t have to wait for it to get fueled.
Lastly, POCO F2 will have an in-display fingerprint scanner that will be faster than the current generation.
Both the POCO F2 and the X2 will come with Quad-Rear cameras with 64 MP primary camera. Other cameras in the module will have a Wide-Angle, Depth sensor, and a macro-camera.
The POCO F2 can have a starting price of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 28,000 in India and can launch in March 2020.
