Vivo has launched the Vivo X6, and the X6 Plus smartphones, both the smartphones are thin, elegant looking and carry some goodness from Apple iPhones. The rose gold Vivo X6 on the first glance reminds of the iPhone 6, even the back side of the smartphone has somewhat similar contours and curves which hints at an iPhone like finish.
The metallic body and vivid colors and beautiful finish, segregate the Vivo X6 from the run of the mill Android smartphones.
The Vivo X6 has a thin profile even thinner than the iPhone measuring just 6.56 mm. The Vivo X6 has a lot of positives in terms of superior metallic design, lightweight frame, top of the line specs and a fingerprint sensor to delight the users.
Further, it has 4 Gigabyte of RAM which offers incredible performance and ability to handle multiple apps with ease. 4 GB RAM is still restricted to some of the very high-end smartphones like the Samsung Note 5 or some of the outliers like the OnePlus 2 or the Asus Zenphone 2 making these smartphones future proof.
Key Specs and Details
The Vivo X6 has a 5.2-inch display screen with Super AMOLED Display and a Full HD Resolution (1920*1080). Though some of the smartphones like the Samsung S6 has bumped up to 2K resolution most flagships are still getting the 1080P resolution as the higher resolution displays also increase the need for energy.
The Vivo X6 runs on an undisclosed Octa-Core Processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The smartphone has a 32 GB in-built storage, and it can be expanded using a micro-sd card.
The rear camera on the Vivo X6 is a 13 Megapixel shooter which comes with fast autofocus and Led flash. The front camera is also an 8 Megapixel shooter for clicking life like selfies. The camera also uses the Phase detection autofocus to capture the images with high quality.
There is nothing much to write home about the 24,00 mAH battery capacity, a price you will have to pay in case you want to buy the thin profile current generation smartphones.
The Vivo X6 Plus has a similar design and specs like the Vivo X6 but improves on some of the elements like the battery capacity. The Vivo X6 Plus comes with a higher battery capacity of 3000 mAH. The smartphone runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS and has a larger 5.7 inches display with the similar 1080P resolution AMOLED display.
The Vivo X6 Plus with the 5.7-inch frame and 3000 mAH battery still manage to have a thickness of 6.85 mm, which is commendable work by Vivo. Both the Vivi X6 and the X6 Plus comes with the fingerprint sensor at the back which differentiates it from the Apple iPhone design which has a fingerprint sensor on the front physical touch button.
It is usually difficult to mount the fingerprint sensor on the front button considering space requirements for the speaker and microphone below the screen is always very low — this where Apple excels.
The Vivo X6 Plus and the Vivo X6 both have support for high speed 4G LTE data bands along with the 3G and 2G data support. The smartphone also boasts of high-quality music experience and is powered by the ES9028 DAC audio chip for the first time in a mobile phone, an ES9603 amplifier, and a Yamaha YSS-205X digital surround sound chip.
Vivo X6 carries on the legacy of Vivo X5 Pro which also featured a HIFI Sound system and offers excellent music and speaker volume. Vivo is another company apart from Sony which has focused on the music experience of smartphone users, of course, Apple is the big boy when it comes to music and earphone music listening experience.
The Vivo X6 carries a price tag of $389 or Rs. 23,500 while the Vivo X6 Plus comes for 469$ or Rs. 29,000. The price and launch date for the Vivo X6 and the X6 Plus in India is yet not known, and we may see the smartphones somewhere in early 2016.
Vivo is another Chinese brand other than Gionee which has a powerful retail presence in India; you can always find a store near your place and even a service center with ease.
