Chinese smartphone brand and one of the sub-brand of BBK Electronics Vivo is enjoying a beautiful time in the market at the moment. Vivo, along with Oppo is eying for a bigger market share globally and both the companies smartphone shipments rose by nearly 100% in 2016.
The success story of both Vivo and Oppo are catching the ongoing trend. The entire world is going nuts about the word ‘selfie’, and both these brands have released smartphones with dual cameras at the front, which impressed selfie enthusiasts out there.
Oppo recently launched its flagship phones for 2017- Oppo R11 and R11 Plus with decent hardware and dual rear cameras. And now it’s time for Vivo to launch its flagship phones and they are the Vivo X5s and X5s Plus.
The company will unveil both the phones early next month and has sent out press invites for an event on July 6, and the invite clearly shows the unveiling of X9s and X9s Plus.
Also, the design of the smartphone is slightly unveiled, and it looks somewhat similar to the Vivo V5 Plus with the antenna bands passing over the top of the rear. The rear camera is present at the top left of the back, and it’s a single camera setup. Like Oppo, Vivo is not looking for a dual rear camera setup yet.
Apart from the design, the key specifications of both the phones are leaked as well, and both the phones were spotted on TENAA website a few days ago. The Vivo X9s will feature a 16 MP rear camera and a 20 MP+5 MP front-facing camera.
On the other hand, the X9s Plus comes with a 5.85-inch Full HD display and expected to feature two cameras at the rear. It will be good if you Vivo embeds dual camera setup on the larger variant to distinguish it from the smaller variant. If it packs the same camera setup, it will be a decent one as well.
The X9s Plus and X9s will be powered by a 1.95 GHz Octa-core processor, which might be the Snapdragon 660 SoC or maybe the Helio P10 chipset. It could be the Snapdragon 660 chip because Oppo is already using the chipset in the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus. The phones will have 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of base internal storage. And there won’t be a microSD card slot for storage expansion though.
The X9s is said to pack a 3920mAh battery, while the X9s Plus will have an even larger one of 5000mAh. Also, both the phones will have support for fast charging technology.
That said, all these are just rumors, so take them with a grain of salt.
