Vivo launched the Vivo XPlay 5 powered by the latest Snapdragon 652 processor and with 4 GB RAM. The smartphone got unveiled along with the more powerful Vivo XPlay 5 Elite which is powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor and comes with incredible 6 GB RAM.
Vivo XPlay 5 Offers Incredible Design and Performance
Rest of the specs for both the smartphones are quite similar and design and build on both the devices is similar.
- The Vivo XPlay 5 Elite Costs CNY 4288 (or Rs. 44000 or $656)
- The Vivo XPlay 5 Costs CNY 3698 ( or Rs. 38500 or $575)
Notably, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 is an ultra-fast processor, but no match for the Snapdragon 820. Besides, You can place the Snapdragon 652 in the league of Snapdragon 808 which is used in the LG G4 and the Google Nexus 5X. Also, the Initial performance hints that it reaches the performance of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, but is a little slower.
Curved Design is similar to Samsung S6 Edge
Additionally, there is Adreno 510 GPU that is slower than the Adreno 430 used in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. Furthermore, the Adreno 530 used with the Snapdragon 820 is a much faster GPU. In nutshell, it is going to have a little slower performance compared to the OnePlus 2 or Google Nexus 6P.
But for a small price difference of Rs 6000, there are a lot of compromises. I would personally pick the Snapdragon 820 powered Vivo XPlay 5 Elite.
Nevertheless, it comes with 5.43-inch 2K Display with 541 PPI and Corning’s gorilla glass 4 protection. Additionally offers 128 GB of internal storage and no support for the memory card.
For photography, it has a 16 MP Sony IMX298 shooter which comes with PDAF, Dual Led flash and f/2.0 aperture size. The front camera is also decent with an 8 MP camera.
Also, it offers 4G LTE connectivity along with 3G / 2G and WIFI. Furthermore, it runs on the Android Lollipop OS and features fun touch OS 2.5 while the Elite version comes with the Android Marshmallow and Funtouch OS 2.6.
The Vivo XPlay 5 has 7.67 mm thickness and weighs 167 grams and has a battery capacity of 3600 mAH which is sufficient to last all day.
Overall we think the Vivo XPlay 5 Elite is a better proposition to go with considering a faster processor, more ram (though not matters much 4G is more than enough), latest OS.
