What Is New in the Coolpad Note 3 Plus

Coolpad has launched the 3rd smartphone in the Note series in India known as the Coolpad Note 3 Plus.

It is an upgraded version of their top selling smartphone Coolpad Note 3.

It was the cheapest smartphone available with a fingerprint scanner below the Rs 10,000 category. Coolpad strategy has been to offer great specs and decent build quality with disruptive pricing.

What Is New in the Coolpad Note 3 Plus

The updated version of the Note 3 is being made in partnership with Videocon at their Aurangabad facility and Coolpad boasts about the contribution to the “Make in India” initiative.

The new smartphone is available at a price of Rs. 8,999 and will go on sale on Amazon India from 13th May 2016.

Coolpad Note 3 Plus Top Features

The Coolpad Note 3 Plus is similar to their previous smartphone with the only difference being the display resolution and an additional Gold color option.

For starters, It sports a 1080p (1920*1080 pixels FULL HD display with a 401 PPI while the older Coolpad Note 3 had an HD display with 1280*720 pixels.

The new display makes the Coolpad Note 3 Plus more lucrative in the sub 10K price range. Design and build remain the same and even the hardware specs are similar to the previous model.

Further, the Coolpad Note 3 Plus comes with 3 GB ram and MediaTek 6753 processor clocked at 1.3Ghz. The storage includes 16 GB inbuilt and expandable option till 64Gb.

For imaging, it comes with 13 MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

Also, there is a decent 3000mah battery to power it for all day long usage, giving 400hrs of standby time and 15hrs of talk-time.

Moreover, It does sport a plastic built and a 360-degree recognition fingerprint reader at the back, below the camera sensor.

Coolpad Note 3 is not the thinnest of mobiles out there it measures in 151x77x9.3mm and has an optimal weight of 168 grams for a 5.5-inch device.

There are 2 color options available as of now, champagne white and gold. The shiny gold version was not available earlier with Coolpad Note 3 but now buyers have an option.

While it is a positive upgrade to the Note series from Coolpad but it makes the older Coolpad Note 3 redundant and it will be better to go for the new Coolpad Note 3 Plus. Coolpad recently slashed the price for Coolpad Note 3 in India from Rs. 8,999 to Rs. 8499.

Considering the price difference is small it will be a much better decision for you to buy the Coolpad Note 3 Plus and enjoy “Games of Thrones” on the full HD display.
